Ok quick question,

I am creating my design portfolio website and I was wondering should I include "Designs" after my business name.

Say my Site was "MrExample.com" should I do "MrExampleDesigns.com" or keep it as short as possible?

It depends - The shorter version could be more of a 'brand' sounding domain name, whereas the longer one could actually be easier to remember.
It's up to you! Think about how each version sounds, etc. The shorter one may not always be the easiest to remember, but I personally like shorter domain names when I purchase mine.

Also take into consideration the keyword you're ranking for. Not that it'll matter much (and I assume you aren't looking to buy an EMD), but check to see if having designs on the end targets your chosen
keywords or target audience better in any way at all. To sum it up, look at it from a few different perspectives and make a rational decision based on the facts :)

Have it short but include design. Instead of MrExampledesign.com do Exampledesign.com

A more descriptive name may bring more targeted customers and trust. MrExampleDesigns is a better choice.
If you have extra $10, just buy both.

Use the company name as it is easier to remember and you can either add your portfolio as a folder or a sub domain That way you can round your site off with a lot more than just your portfolio. This will also give you the ability to remove and deindex your portfolio without hindering the rest of your site if you wish to add a (though very little) a little in the way of discretion as to whom you wish to have your examples (for either you or your previous clients privacy).
