Hey all, well I had an eBay account limited once (It was actually my dad's eBay).

Well I made one, but live with my parents, so same IP.

Well, they limited the selling privileges, but let me buy. I prolly had 70+ feedback ratings before they decided to be stupid and limit it. Now I can still buy, so since I've been buying it has went up to 87 ratings now. 100%.

Anyways, I once called and said wtf, why is it locked? They said same IP, so they believe it is the same person, wtf!?

Anyways, I'm thinking about calling again and seeing what they say this time. Does anyone have an idea or anything that might help me?

What's even more stupid, is that his was linked to his PayPal, and mine is linked to MY PayPal (Confirmed!), so why would they blame it on me, when mine is linked to my OWN PayPal, with my freaking social, etc!)

Also IF I make a stealth account, using Tor, and using a VCC (And a Google Voice #), what else do I need to do, to protect myself from them locking that account?

And how much feedback will I need to get on it before attempting to sale?

Wow, they actually admitted that its because its the same IP, i am surprised. Anyway, what i would say is explain to them that you have nothing to do with the other account, be nice and maybe they will undo the limits.

To make another account, besides the things you mentioned you will need new email, tweak your information to be different ex . name and address, you'll need to clean you cookies and flash. And make sure not to log into the old account so you dont mix the same IP and cookies...

Using tor as your IP sources for an ebay/payapl account is probably the worst thing you can do. Those IP's have been rapped to hell and back. You need a dedicated IP for creating these types of accounts.

Ahh very true, yeah I'll do that for my new eBay, if they don't remove my limits. And yep, agreed they admitted it, and that pissed me off. Sadly not much I can do. I hate them with a passion, BUT it's profit for me, when I can use their site. :P

eBay is just a waste after a while they will ask you to send documents id cc statement and receipts of your items. Happen to me, never again will I use there service I provided what they ask for than they ask me for more and more stuff

Gone forever.

IP linking is one of the main ways they catch people. People who create eBay accounts with the intention to scam people at public places such as libraries actually affect the many other people who might log onto their eBay account at a library.

See that's so f*cked up!

Say someone with 1000+ feedback, zero negative, and then they go to McDonald's wi-fi, log in, and then eBay locks their account, thinking they're the same person as someone else who created a scam account there. So messed up man.

You will get away with using a banned ip once or twice if your account isnt allready flagged.
But do it on a regular basis and the account will be canned.
As above TOR is no longer safe.
You need to create a new user account on your computer then use that for the account only.
Do not delete the cookies from this new user account, ebay likes to see cookies so let them build up on your new user account.
ip can be changed several ways either use a vps or get a dongle or swap your router.

I wouldnt use any banned IP..paypals new system is in place from december and it means that now their bot will automatically limit your account

Agreed but OP was talking about ebay who currently are not so quick to pick up on ips unlike paypal with there new software.

your accounts gone *poof* change your ip buddy get a cellphone and tether youl get a diffrent ip with most carriers.

Are you saying you can't sell at all or can only sell say 50 items max/month? The same thing happened to me in Jan, they told me I had to call back next month to raise my limit and I was about call them until I noticed the limit was poof gone.

The amount of feedback you have from buying means NOTHING when you start to sell. People don't even pay attention to feedback anymore. Don't waste time and start selling ASAP.

Don't use Tor.

Get ccleaner and better privacy for mozilla. You'll need to get a new IP address as well.

New name, new address, new date of birth, new email, new bank account, new password.

most accounts start out with a 10 item/1000 dollar per month limit. In 3 months, it will increase. (3 months from when you start selling)

Like others have said do not use Tor. You need a unique IP Address and information for a new account.
Avoid VPN's to unless you know it is dedicated only to you.

Is having a new password really necessary to get pass the ebay system?
