Boosey's Offline Advertising Results

Alright everyone, Got a few PM's for my results (sorry, thought I posted them somewhere?!?!)... Anyways,

There's no way for me to POSSIBLY track EXACTLY how much I made off of the flyer's/ Pizza delivery... but i'll give you a rough estimate

Method 1: PIZZA
Had 4500 flyer's made ($300 w/ discount)
- 200 Flyer's at G's Pizzeria in my hometown ($30+ Cost of Flyers)
- 50 Flyer's (roughly) to Pizza Delivery Guys @ Marcos ($20= "$5 to each")
- 15 Flyer's ($10) to the original pizza delivery guy

Method 2: APT. COMPLEX'S
Had roughly 4200 flyer's left over
- gave a stack (roughly 100) flyers to each apt. manager to put in move in packets (got 4 complex's done) = (400 flyer's)
- put 1 flyer in front of EACH door, in all the apartment buildings , came out to about 2400 flyers total (big apartment complex's)
- did about 2 parking lots, and got all the visitor parking lots (put flyers on the cars) = 200-300 flyers

Now I have a pretty good size stack left over in my living room...

Before Flyers: Stats:
-2-3 sign-ups each day on each GPT site
-made roughly $45-$50 a day

After Flyers: Stats:
-25-35 sign-ups each day on the MAIN GPT sites (the ones at the top of my site)
-made roughly $90-$140 a day for about 2 weeks
-got a total of probably 350-400 sign-ups over the 2 weeks
-still bringing in about $70-$80 a day.... SPREAD ACROSS ALL OF THE GPT SITES I USE!!!

Now, I'm still getting higher than usual conversions (sign-ups)... but i'm not sure if they're all from the flyer's... or from my CL posting... either way, the flyer's DEFINITELY work!!

I'd say, for my Investment of:
8 hrs work
$400ish + Gas + Beer + Movies in Lansing = $480

I probably made an extra $1500-$1700 Spread across all of the GPT sites i'm a part of!!! (Some signed up, and haven't done shit though... ) AND, as long as those people stay active, and keep referring new people, and keep doing surveys/offers... i'll make a lot more!!!

But, all in all, it was DEFINITELY worth it!!

May I ask why your sending to GPT sites?
You make very little money with them compared to sending to a CPA offer.
My experience with GPT sites, i make 10 times less than if i were to send to an offer.

@Magcshroom- No I didn't... it was too damn expensive!!! I found a place that does Newspaper ad's for like $20 a month... gonna try that out!!

@DrinkMe- I'm looking for residual income.... I'm also using CPA offers, but I have a lot of work to do to my site before I market it!!.... we'll see how it goes

Interesting... but ionno what everyones obsession with offline advertising is,

theres like 500,000,000 people on the internet everyday, even with more competition theres no way you will be reaching more people with same investment offline... imo

Ill stick to the web, perhaps you should put that same $$$ investment and time investment into a PPC campaign directed towards the same site and compare the resulting revenues

Good Work Dude! Here's a tip for next time. Since targeting is very important you should just use simple subdomains that redirect hence are tracked or tinyURL's to track different flyering campaigns. Then you can go back and target those places that converted the most and stop flyering the places that suck. Save Money, Save Time and make more. Use the tracking information to make wiser choices and you won't throw away as much money. Now you can get a better idea of what demographic is converting better hence drop what doesn't work and target fresh areas that are simlar.


You can apply PPC methods to offline methods as well

What size was the advert?
What did the text say?

You mention 25-35 sign-ups each day, so these are people interested in making money online, and signed up to a free offer. I wonder how many of these would sign up to a 'free trial' that automatically puts them onto a paid membership after, say, 15 days. What are other peoples opinions on this?

i was thinking of doing flyers. I have a big apartment next to my house. But, i wasnt sure how to do it.
When u did it, did u just go in the apartment office and asked them to give out flyers?
and.. what wud u suggest- investing in flyers or newspaper advertising?

Glad to hear it worked for you.

As mentioned here and in the other thread I believe, you have to make sure that you set up some sort of proper tracking system. One small jump in rankings could skew all of your numbers. And don't forget to factor all the time in when you are doing this sort of venture. Not just execution but all the planning/preparation etc. And don't forget to factor in the man hours put in by friends/family/workers as they may not be around to do it for free in the future. Regarding the tracking situation.. surely the area that they are placed is completely irrelevant.. you can't flyer the same area twice surely.. The only thing I would like to track is the copy on the flyer and the offer that is aimed at these people. You can easily split test. Get two different batches of flyers printer then mix them together 50%. One batch has the one $9 .com address and the other has a different 9$ web address.

We need to work out what works best for these offline consumers in 2009. These people don't know ^anything^ about Internet Marketing... they don't know anything about e-mail marketing.. you could be putting them on a mailing list and sending them e-mails every week..... we need to work out what works best!

What boosey is doing seems to be working though. That is a nice bit of money in my opinion - I'm just wondering if it could be tweaked and improved.
