In a sense it's a stupid question, thats why there is so many stupid answers. Who cares how much others make, I only care about my earnings.

It's not a stupid question at all. People want to know the earnings potential before putting their time and energy into it. It's just like trying to pick a college major? Will I like the course material..and what's the earnings potential after college? If it's not worth the investment of your time and money...don't do it. It's a pretty understandable and sensible concern...
