Hi, minor updates are free e.g. going from version 2.0 to 2.1. Major updates are free for 6months e.g. going from version 2.0 to 3.0 then after 6months a upgrade fee is needed. Like most software e.g. Microsoft Word you wont get free upgrades for Major updates but we provide the first 6months free as we see it only fair.

Well people would say my opinion is biased so I would trial for yourself just go to the download trial link on the Rank Reporter page.

I ran a couple of tests and the results were pretty good. I didn't load any proxies and ran about 8 keywords in each test with no problem - I ran google on one test and g/b/y on the other. Scheduler is nice and the reports are great - you pay more for reports in other tools.

The only thing I'd recommend is an option to search for more than one result for a given keyword - in case the page I'm optimizing appears below another page on the same domain.

About your competition: I don't like being held ransom if I choose to not buy search engine algo updates for $35 every 6 months. It's just plain hostile!

In rank reporter, it has the tools built in to edit the search engine templates yourself if you want. So if they release a new version and stop updating the old one, you could update it yourself. (From what I understand, Google rarely changes the SERP layouts, so I doubt this will be much of an issue.)

OK. I bought the combo and they're working great. Is there a way to append the current day's date on scheduled reports? If I dump reports into a folder I'd want to avoid overwriting the previous week's (or day's) report.

Yes add "#DATE#" (and "#TIME#") to the report filename when you set up the scheduled report. The software will automatically replace that with the current date/time

I just wanted to share with you something else you can do with BLM now.

You can import a sites backlinks directly from OSE or ahrefs. This is great for getting all your backlinks tracked OR for competitor research / link building.
