Whatitdo, I'm happy for this post to be ranking on keywords because it is at least a forum where we are able to reply and actually help users as opposed to the other sites referenced which will not let us comment.

Imgeek - I will get someone to look into what support team member said that because that's contrary to our strict policy that deposits must be refunded to source and not withdrawn. We don't allow withdrawals on deposits because a) it's money exchange b) opens us up to chargeback risk and c) costs everyone fees including us.

I am afraid you don't understand how serious this situation is. By intentional revealing user's private data your company not only broke its privacy policy, but the general law as well. So (whatever you do at this company), your job is in peril.

think whether leave this thread or leave Freelancer. No other option you have mate.

I am both freelancer and Employer on freelancer.com
It's really frustrated to be freelancer on there, because once Employer awarded the project to freelancer, freelancer.com charges fees from both sides. As a freelancer, if employer cancel the project after awarding it. We lost money of the fee that freelancer.com charged. The fee they charge is like 3% to 10%, imagine if you get a 800 USD project and client awarded you then cancel it.
As an employer, I have worked a lot of freelancers on freelancer.com, who do not give good quality of work.(Even they have good rating.) And found few good ones after tried to work with very bad ones, it turns out you pay fees several times for same project, and spent more money then the actual budget because you have to rehire someone when you found out those freelancers were wasting your time after work started and then tell you they cannot complete the work.
I really think if freelancer.com really want to charge that much money, they really should consider doing quality control.

Freelancer turned into big shit after the austrialen company bought it out from sweden.They are just trying to milk the community in every possible way and the auto charge is just one of it.
Their support is the biggest joke.The left side doesnt know what the right side is doing and each supporter telling you some other bullshit.Myself i spent over $xx.xxx as employer and got once autocharged twice from freelancer for $16 .So i instantly disputed it since they are already making enough money out of me without providing anything.What happened is that they banned my account because of $16 negative balance,as they refunded me the first charge of $16 and are claiming now that i tried fraud by disputing the second $16.What a joke expecially after spending arround $2x.xxx there without any issues ever.
I contacted support and am now fighting for arround 7 months to get my fucking account back but there is always a small problem because they are to dumb to reactivate it or always find another bullshit issue.The newest one is to verify my person since i could use a fraud paypal.Yeah right i paid $2x.xxx over 3-4 years using a fraud paypal and never got any complaints.But thats the logic of freelancer.Another thing which makes me mad as hell is the fact that you need to pay fees even as employer when awarding somebody a project.They tell each and every freelancer to not provide anything before the employer award the project and create a milestone.But how the fuck is the employer able to protect himself against scammers which are 90% on freelancer if they want to try somebody without reputation there?As the ownership was in sweden it was no problem you could cancel the awarded project and it was done and many times you could find this way extremly good deals with very experienced people who just never worked before on gaf but you also hit sometimes some scammers.Today you will be charged for a $1k project $100 instantly and if it turns out to be a scam you first need to dispute your money and wait for it like an idiot and have to pay the $100 fee to freelancer and when contacting the support they doesnt even care if you got cheated as employer or not.
They just bought getafreelancer to milk the community and since the employer are leaving the sinking boat they are forced to buy the smaller communities.

I looked into your employer. He was a fraudulent from Jordan that used stolen credit cards which were charged back.
