I have been hired by a client to set up the marketing side for a Taxi business from the ground up. So, here is my marketing plan as until now, would appreciate your comments or advice!

Target: very touristic holiday region in Brazil.
- Tourists Profile: Middle - Very high Class (Rich and Famous)
- Clients - points: Doesn't have a license to stay parked at the airport (but can operate from it, so we have to catch the tourists to make a reservation when they are searching for information about the town, making their hotel reservation or searching for a taxi service)
- Client + points: Has drivers who speak 2-5 languages, brand new cars.

Strategy:
- I have made a custom website in 5 languages sitting at 3-8 place on google for the most important keywords with the option to make a reservation above the fold (they fill in the form or can contact by skype, telephone, facebook or twitter)
- Plans for a mobile website for the future, maybe people will remember to look for a taxi service once they arrive and wait for their lugage or in between flights. Just want to catch them before they arrive!
- We have signed a frontpage ad on one of the most important website in the region with the option to make a reservation directly from that site.
- We're going to visit the most important hotels with a business proposal and the rest we will send a pdf presentation. We're targetting reception managers-attendents because they decide witch Taxi company is going to be called for reservations, we will give them a 15% cut on reservations.
- Business proposals for online (vip) tour operators.
- Facebook and twitter marketing on the most important profiles in the region.
- Looking in to some local adwords - facebook ads.
- Promotions on their website: coupons, promotions, facebook contests, low season specials ...
- For the future, sell advertising space on their Taxi's

So that's where i'm at right now, you guys have any more advice or ideas to get more possible clients?
Thanks,

Use cross promotions with Hotels, Bars, Discos, Convention Centers. Make it easy for them to accept your promotions.

Provide them with all the marketing materials. Use the simplest methods you can find to make it easy for people to contact your taxies, for example QR codes, sms, mobile websites.

Put promotional materials from your partners inside the taxis and/or use magnetic signs.

Hope that helps and good luck.

I believe your taxi service should be targeted to departing tourists first, this because the tourists are already sitting in hotels, spas, main attractions etc then you can offer them free flyers with your site link and "coupon"hint ;) to book their transfer out service to the airport, the driver will provide a future discounted card too so they can re-book if they come back, the site then should offer frequent fliers to become "Vip"members :) too.

Also once money is rolling in, I will target plane magazines, with coupons and numbers people can call as soon as they hit the terminal.

If you need more ideas let me know, looks like we both live in South America?

:D

Well that is an interesting point of view but the problem is that the only attraction here are the beaches, most hotels and pousadas have their own spa's, etc ... very difficult to get acces. Maybe hire some kids to pass some original flyers and coupons on the beach. Most taxi services here have contracts with the hotels or have allready convinced their clients to book their out service in advance with them.

I think the best way to catch them is online, when they are searching for info on the destination and target receptions and tour operators. I think that Linked in would be good aswell!
like a lot the idea of the plane magazines, nice for the future! The QR and sms is also good! So witch South American country you live in?

Anyone more ideas?

Yeah i know, that we'll be our strenght because we're the only company who has drivers who speak several languages, what is very rare in Brazil!! And don't forget the Olympics is coming aswell!!

Just an idea also contact attractions or day trips excursions if there are any. Might draw in some business

Yes, we have allready the most important trips aswell.

So essentially your USP (Unique selling proposition) is that you have drivers which can speak several languages and are going to get you from A to B to C with the least hassle. It's a good USP, so go from there. Formulate the USP into a proper sentence that says what your benefit it right away, and then roll with that.

Google ads for mobile + geotargeting to catch people at the airport, 1click= 1client, definitely roi

The first thing I would do is get the airport license! That would seem to be VERY important.

If you don't mind a little blackhat type promotion, print up small labels with the QR code and "Multi-Lingual Taxi - 10% off" or something similar and have them discreetly placed in front of the eyeballs you want to see them.

Make CERTAIN to check out the laws and consequences first though to limit liability.

Enjoy ..... :cool2:

I actually did some SEO for a local limo company... you know how they get all their business? Kick backs to all the hotel concierges, hostesses of restaurants and bartenders :) Negotiate a few percent to be paid for each referral call they give you... you'll own the town.

Along the lines of what SEO_Alchemy is saying, a good tact is to print up coasters with your
QR code and slogan, etc and give them to bars and restaurants, etc. (airport?)

Enjoy ..... :cool2:
