New Google update and How It Affected My Sites

Ok as many of you have already realized there was a Google update. I am going to tell you my experience with this update and what has happened to my sites. After the last update I was screwed up pretty bad so I diversified my strategies before this one hit.

I had 9 sites of which I tried different methods.

First set of three sites I used just forum and blog comments along with social bookmarking. All of these sites have dropped in rank. One of them dropped off the map completely.

2nd set of sites I used social bookmarks, manual posting on high pr blogs, and press releases. 2 of the three sites moved up while one stayed the same. One of these sites is actually now on the first page for all 6 of my main keywords I am targeting. This was a nice surprise.

The last set of 3 sites I used all Fiverr gigs. Pyramids, forum comments, and youtube comments. None of these sites moved up or down. They are in exactly or around the same positions they were.

I don't know how this new update has affected any of you but from what I see the press releases helped out quite a bit. I hope some of you can gather some info from my experience here. Also, if your site was affected let us know how. Did it go up or down?

Useful thread...better than the Ohes, Noes...my site moved up/down/sideways.. I do all WH for the e-comm sites they have remained stable. Manual Web 2.0 creation, press release, guest posts..

I created a BRAND new site on the 1st, has 5 articles now, 1 press release and some web 2.0 posts on pr 2 and 3 blogs I have (only about 3 of these links) added the url in a couple of profiles I have that have page rank 3...
The new site moved up to 22 from nowhere only 400 searches p/month exact but its "buy product" the short tail version "keyword" just hit #50, 9900 exact p/month in the US.

I had one site drop from 11 to 28, but fourteen more sites gained rankings.

Anyone seen a change in Page Rank with this update? I looked on Digital Point yesterday and people were saying the next one would be around the end of Feb/March+.

Thanks OP and please keep us updated on your progress.

The update has been running for 2-3 days already (at least on my end in Vietnam). And I think we should wait at least a week for things to settle down before making any adjustment.

I have one site getting close to 100 UVs/day. Was on #2-#3 based on the main keyword (product based) on main page. Now it's been overtaken by Amazon, kmart, gumtree, efurnituremart etc at positions #9 and #10.

Before today, Amazon was not even smelling close. I was trailing Kmart on occasional #1 rankings.

both .co.uk domains of mine which were ranking between 2# 3# are now 84# and 95# respectively.. I don't understand why the update has effected so many .co.uk domains its the talk of webmaster at the moment... hopefully rankings will return to normal fingers crossed.

one of my social media provider site was ranking 8# spot for buy youtube views now its ranking 79#spot not as worried because i've havent really trust google as a stable source of income my client are usually one's i've refer

I am flipping out,

i have some similar story as gadgeter, 3mnth old site and about 3 301 redirections one of them pointing site A--301--->B---301---->money site, some links from article submission directories. blog commenting, tier1 and tier2 links, good on page content, past 3mnth i worked hell of a job to get to 3rd page (16hr aprox) for keyword seo optimisation on local language and suddenly from two days ago i started to drop down now i'm on 11th page, and I don't know what to do, my eyes are rolling in my head from these slap

I lost place 1 after 3 years and after panda, penguin and all the animals update, so we are not guessing, something happen. The most irritate for me is that i lose two positions (i'm now #3) for 2 sites with no backlinks & no content (seomoz rank for my site 50+ and for the two who are now #1 & #2 10-...)
