Im also hosting with hostwinds, and they were fine all day, I just saw everything is down when I read your post.
I know that they had issues with the support and ticket system for the past 3 ours.
So maybe they are doing some server reboots.

well my site is back up and running 12:40 just after I posted, I refreshed my site, and it is back on.

just when i was about to purshase a VPS on there hosting
Hi rashow, I have vps level 5 with them, and Im very very happy. Theirs support is really 24 /7
The guy's there sometimes even helps me with website issues I have. Just had one support idiot today tell me know he can't help me install
a 3rd party script. but must say it is the first time dealing with him. and I told him that I will rather wait for the night time guy, Frank. Frank rule.
He helps with anything, he will even download scripts for me if I can't, he install anything for me via ssh if I can't.
For 1 reason and one reason only I will stay there for the support, it is fast, it is live. Im hosting 30 clients of mine's domains and if they need answers, I can sit around emailing support for answers.
and to speed up my support, I love their fast support.

i'm planing to take a linux vps to do some mass emailing , i will take a level 3 vps with some additional ips for rotation and see how it goes , i'm waiting for the someone to come install the malling software for me , he didn't show up today

Lol, I moved away from hostwinds months ago. I asked them to cancel my packages at the end of the month because I was not happy so they just went ahead and deleted everything and cancelled me right on the spot. Very unprofessional company
Stay away from hostwinds. Their hosting is not reliable and there are a lot of down time. Just search around bhw forum and you will see a lot of complaints going on.
If you want good and reliable hosting, subscribe to hostgator. Their hosting is more reliable with very minimal downtime. They also offer 24/7 chat support. I strongly recommend hostgator.
