My experience with Ebay and Fiverr

So I figured I would try my luck and resell some Fiverr gigs on Ebay. It worked really well at first, I was making around 300% of what I spent (on average $10-$20 per sale, spending $5 per gig, some gigs covering 2 sales so $5 for every $20-$40). I was doing very well, had a nice amount of sales going.

Suddenly, the person I was buying from stopped doing the gigs. I had 3-4 gigs for him to do and he never contacted me saying it was cancelled, paused, or anything. The gig did not state that it was paused. So I figured he was just busy and gave him an extra day. The next day I had messages from almost everyone who purchased from me complaining. I asked them to be patient and wait one more day due to an issue that I was trying to resolve. All attempts to contact the person from Fiverr were not responded to. One more day went by, everyone was complaining (as they should), and I still hadnt gotten a response. His turn-out time was supposed to be 2 days and 5 days later he still had not done the gigs.

So, as you can guess, I requested cancellation and refunded all the people who did not get what they paid for. This was my real start on IM, first real amount of money I have made and it is fairly depressing to see 80% of the money you have made go down the drain because one person didn't do what they promised. It is now a day later and the gig still hasnt been cancelled, and I still haven't heard from him.

Now, with most of my funds gone and the reputation of my ebay account almost completely ruined, I am back to square one and have to start all over.

I had thought of that, I was just short on initial funds with impatient buyers. As I said this was my first actual... well, at first *success* with IM. I don't have much money because I have issues finding an offline job due to some physical impairments I have that aren't "severe" enough to really be acknowledged. Unfortunately, they feel bad enough to be.

I am going to try someone else as soon as my order cancellation goes through. Just all of the negative feedback on ebay really made my account take a hit. Unfortunately, no matter how courteous, friendly, and responsible you are if someone doesn't get what they want on ebay you get bad feedback lol.

It was your first successful run-through of finding a money-making cookie-cutter that works. But like all businesses, you also have to include risk management or mitigation in your operations, to handle any forseeable problem that happens. Every plan to bank should also have a "what if" checklist of pitfalls, along with your plan to prevent them or workaround them.

As others have said, having back-up funds and back-up gig providers is very important. To better control things, at first the outsourced gigs should all be assignments you could actually complete yourself. This works around not having the extra money to buy replacement gigs, and assures you can deliver if your supplier cannot.

happns. but u have to cover it by buying from another seller.
The method is pain in the arse. but good for starters

To be honest, I would rather not say due to how well they were selling. This isn't untouched, but I would rather not increase the market haha.

Thanks for the offer, but I cancelled the gigs and got it back in fiverr credit I suppose is what you would call it lol. I plan to reuse it on fiverr anyway, so its fine where it is

Well, regardless of how much I paid for it if someone says they will do something they should. I understand the view you are taking on it, however if they aren't going to do it I would at least expect the courtesy of being informed of it when they decide so I could make other arrangements.

In any business transaction it helps to have some loose change laying around to take the risk from buying
from someone else. Actually the real problem here is double checking your supplier or at least have one on Skype or something
and not just a fiverr gig got a supplier.
