How much did you make in 2012?

Christianbed thanks for this thread. It is really an eye opener, that aff stuff is nothing to make a decent living from ( at least in my country ) - man, i am happy to be full time employed with a job i like.
 
Been at the game since 2007, have had good years and not so good years. 2012 was a great year. Hired staff, expanded our offices, made a good profit. Our business is 85% "offline" IM to business (SEO, lead gen, landing pages, email marketing, branding, etc. ) 15% traditional IM (CPA, affiliate marketing) our goal is to make it closer to 60%-40% to be able to rely less on customer relationships. Net profit 2012 in the low $200K. 2013 projected to increase 20%

I disagree. I think it shows that like any entrepreneurial venture, the fail rate is high. That doesn't mean you have to be in that category, though.

More importantly, the large majority of people making mid 6-figures and up are not wasting their time messing around on internet forums. Fewer still feel the need to gloat about it.

Completely disagree with this statement, I've been on here a long time and I can tell you there are MANY members here making mid 6 figures and up and always find the time to be on this forum to offer advice, share experiences, learn from other members methods and successes and contribute where they can. Threads like this were inspirational to me when I first got started and I learned a lot of strategies that still work for me today on this forum.

The two biggest mistakes people make in IM (any many other business ventures for that matter), the first is shiny object syndrome, jumping from method to method and guru to guru looking for that get rich quick scheme. The second is trying to take shortcuts with "blackhat" methods which are just not sustainable. Sure you'll make some money but unless you invest it in long term strategies and run it like a legitimate business, it will never last. You will always be chasing the next "method".
 
Well, for the first year I did not make shit from my website. Then I told myself one more year and then I am moving on to something else. I started making money in the forth quarter baby, little money to you guys but it is a start and this month already I am doing great.

4th - $200.00
Jan 2013 - $150.00 and the month is still young. :)

Guys making big figures are smart enough to have ample time at their hand. Reading between the lines of posts can be very informative :-)
 
i made over 4 dollars last year but i didn't do that much of work at all i think am the laziest person on earth, but this year is gonna be my year i have plenty of ideas in my head to implement
and soon will be taking shovel and dig big hole in IM .

I agree with you there. I don't think I clarified my point well enough. I don't think the large majority of members who have 6-figures are going to come into this thread to discuss their earnings. I didn't mean come on BHW in general. Indeed, many have earned such money from what they learned here.

I feel sad for the man making "big figures" who sits at his computer all day. Most have realized money just buys the freedom to go do what they want - hopefully not sit on computer forums...
 
Probably 300k or so... still haven't talked to my bookkeeper or cpa yet.
 
Made a few hundreds, reinvested to VPS and SEO tools, domains, content, so I didn't make any for 2012.

But I can see myself getting there. Will hit four figures this year!
 
just curious, is there anyone working for IRS visiting this forum? :)
