Awesome videos Matt, went through them yesterday and it has reinforced my understanding of Tiered Link Building!

Quick question:
Do you recommend tiered link building for business citations or a Google+ page?

I do some local SEO work and a majority of my time is spent building citations. Rankings did increase in the beginning, but now are stable. I'm looking for a way to up my game and take it to the next level without making my site vulnerable.

Hi,

Yes you can apply the tiered theory to any situation - if it already has a solid set of tier 1 links then just build tiers to those while continuing doing what your already doing.

The most critical aspect about any SEO/link building campaign for client/businesses is reducing risk

So as long as you retain control over your tier 1 links and can remove/edit them that goes along way in reducing the risk.

Welll that really is a can of worms question and there isn't a simple answer to that.

Is it a 'converting' keyword (eg review, deals, offers)
Is it a profitable keyword ($10 commission or $500?)
How well does it convert? (can usually double profits from same levels of traffic with CRO)

A converting keyword with $500 commision and 1,000 exacts a month is worth more than a non converting keyword with $10 commision and 20,000 exacts a month

Hi,

The EMD update has nothing to do with link building and is purely an onsite penalty.

I want to promote an Italian site following your tiered link guide.

I imagine the best thing is using sites and articles in Italian. Unfortunately everything is more difficult in Italian. There are much less sites available for article submission, most of these sites are very poor as link profile, it is much more difficult to find people to write articles, to spin them, and so on.

Is it possible to promote an Italian site making link building from sites in English? What do you do in similar cases?

I have not done this personally but from what I understand from others it doesn't make that much of a difference at the moment - thats not to say that won't change in the future though!

Thanks for the video series. I've been doing something similar for a while now but when I checked out the videos a while back, I actually subscribed to UD as a result. My only question to you is about UD's site list.

I noticed you did a UD blast to your money site with super spun content. But I found that the majority of Web 2.0s and Wikis with UD are no-follow (even after scraping my own.) Does your personal site list contain mostly followed links, or do you blast your money site with those nofollows?

What you should do is write out the full bullet points and associated html and make 2 copys of it.

The for one of the copys-

Look at how you can spin some bullets together with a blank

Spin some together without a blank

Make some spin against themselves with a blank


Then for the second copy do exactly the same thing but randomly different.

Then spin both sets together with a blank

This is a great base method for getting started but the people that will get the most benefit from it are those that take what they have learnt, and make it their own.
