Hi Guys,

I'm looking to hire someone for a quick job.

I want threaded comments for my wordpress theme which currently does not support them. I have ticked the box in discussions options but to no avail.

If I replace the contents of comments.php with the default themes comments.php then the threaded comments work BUT I lose all the custom styling of my comments boxes.

Here is a copy of my current comments.php file http://pastebin.com/JfxYeGDd for reference

I also have a copy of the blog on a staging area so you can tweak/edit without effecting the live website.

Plesae respond/pm me with price & turn around time

Thanks

Is that link any use ? might be some more info in the comments

Hi,

That is EXACTLY what I want the only problem is that it then removes the current custom styling.

I tried to integrate it with the custom styling my theme uses and thats where I hit a brick wall after many hours of trying.

I can modify code to an ok level, but thats as far as it goes ^^

Probably 5 minutes work for someone that knows what they are doing.

I'll pay $25 immediately for this fix.

$35 if its completed within 24 hours of this post

Edit: I should also clarify I'm currently using this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-thread-comment/ to generate the threaded comments you see here http://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/tips/successful-people-vs-unsuccessful-people-which-one-are-you/

And that takes care of the styling but it doesn't quite work properly and if you click to reply to a comment that already has a threaded reply it goes a bit whack.

I also want to remove the plugin and use the native support wordpress has because that provides the neccessary hooks for other plugins I can't use at the moment :)

Your coding skills are probably better than me. I generally hack out a solution after 48hrs of frustration ! I moved to livefyre for comments a while back. Does look like an easy fix, suprised you have'nt been inundated with pms

Sounds like we are both in the same boat skill level wise =D

Thanks for jumping in with the link though, need more members like you!

Why don't you use a solution like Disqus or Facebook Comments?

I have just removed Facebook comments after using them since launch as I want to do more with them than what both of those solutions offer

Oh ok I understand. Maybe for your blog is better not to have Facebook Comments since people dont want to post all their SEO talks on FB. By the way your blog is awesome! :)

Hi,

That is one of the other contributing factors to it - I actually asked my readers which they would prefer and they have spoken :P

Thanks for checking out my blog and your advice in thread (:
