I don't know why people are so caught up with the fact that he'd be competing with Google. He could make decent money by just capturing a tiny tiny tiny sliver of market share. Hell, if he got a decent audience that was no bigger than the number of users on BHW he'd make more than enough. He doesn't need to make millions. If he comes up with something innovative, he could get bought out or he could be bought out simply because of a decent number of searches being made from his site.

Maybe, but I'm not in it for that, I was only in it for the reason of being able to do such a thing, I've deployed another server, hopefully this one will take the strain of the current one.

You running two servers now then or you just migrated to bigger server?

Maybe you should have 1 server indexing and another for running queries - maybe a third for storage?

I know you are on a budget, but maybe that would be better 3 small servers than 1 big?

if one query takes around 5 seconds, how much will take 100 queries at the same time?
what RDMS are you using?
