New Marketplace Payment Processor Advice Needed

Hello,

It's my desire to setup an online marketplace for buying and selling. Every time I try to think away from doing it because of payment problems, I just keep coming back to it, this is 2013, I have to do something useful with my life. The marketplace will help sellers sell there product and I take a small percentage of the sales and the remaining percentage go to the sellers.

The problem is that I live in a country where PayPal/Skrill and many payment processor I can think of have decided to exclude my country. I have to send payment to sellers weekly/monthly, but there is no way to take send payment, the only way I can think of now is to receive payment through 2Checkout and after that I will still have problem sending payment to the sellers.

The payment processor I'm left with for receiving payment are:

1. 2Checkout
2. Liberty Reserve
3. Plimus


I will be happy if you can advice me on what to do, I'm really confused now.

Incorporate in the US - use Stripe

Using 2CO would be the best idea since most of the people will use Paypal to make payments. But as you grow, it would be better if you keep adding more and more payment options since that would be beneficial for people who are unable to use even 2co to make payments.

You will have to consider getting a stealth account in a permitted country (not necessarily the US) that allows you to receive and send payments. Put the account on a dedicated VPN to minimize IP problems.

For something like this using a stealth account could turn into a proper nightmare.

If you were selling a service then sure - use a stealth account and if it gets closed forget the few hundred / few thousand that was in it and move on to a new account. But you seem to be wanting to hold your clients' money, meaning that if you run into issues with your account and get your funds frozen, you will instantly owe a bunch of clients, most likely leading to your site getting shut down.

Like jazzc mentioned above, your best bet is probably incorporating in some other country (doesn't have to be US) and using this as your business front. Sure, there are costs involved and the process can be a bit time consuming but if you're serious about your business then this shouldn't be an issue.
