Back Links Question...

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas/holiday.

I am new to SEO/back linking, so what I would like to know is: how many tier 2 sites should I have pointing to my site and what are the best ones to use (my money site is an adult clothing store) and also, do I need more tiers than 2?

Sorry it's a very generic question, but I am new to this.

Yes, you should never ever blast links on the money site. You can manually build some high quality backlinks for money site if you're lucky enough to find some.

Everything depends on keyword complexity. If your keyword is easy to rank then there is enough if you build couple hundreds of wordpress blogs pinting to your money site and then blast those worpress blogs with some forum profiles for indexing and that all what you need...
If keyword is more complex then you should think about some serious link building strategy.

Its only really one keyword I am after and its low comp. The other guy said only a few tier two sites, but you reccomend a couple of hundred?

Add more tiers if you want to blast more links.... And why will you want to blast more links, only when you are not on top. SO I suggest go on adding tiers and blasting links to the tiers.

Hey James different methods work for different niches. I buiild web 2.0s for my sites but thats a slow process and the gains I see are marginal but at least safe. Thats the method with the 2.0s you are blasting to a second tier link and if that ever got affected then you can switch it off. But I still build links to my main site. Links to your main site are where you are going to have big noticeable results in a short time frame. Its just the days of sending 40000 links direct to your site are gone but I still have no problem dripping in a few weeks on a constant basis.

So Duffers, blast like a few hundred to my money site and a few k to the tier two sites? Something like that? I am also blasting with social bookmark and wiki links. Is that diverse enough? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to mess this up.

James, no you dont blast anything to your main site just build links or use a tool to slowly build quality links...you can pm me your site if you want some suggestions
