how to build a good link wheel

hi, i am new i this area, link wheel, and i want to learn more about that.
I don't know exactly how to build a good link wheel, so i have some questions.
1. Where should i insert the link, i a articole on blogs for link wheel, in sidebar?
2. I need to write new articles for tier 1 blogs every week?
3. i need to insert links in each new articles, or to insert in only one.

Is Google Knol still around? I was under the impression they had shut that site down.

Anyway, linking directly from too many sites to your own money site is going to look suspicious. Linking to other wiki style Web 2.0 sites is the smarter choice and then allowing one of the linked sites per wheel to link to your money site is better.
