Gambling Agents/Bookies - Will you join?

What do you think about this? Will you guys join if you have the chance to become a online gambling's bookie? By being a bookie, you can create accounts for your members and they can place their bet online on the website 24/7. So basically, it's pretty much easy money and money comes in even when you are sleeping. Some opinions please?

Gambling sites are limited market because of all the red tape that goes with it if you're running it legal. If illegal, the consequences may not be worth the money. But good luck, hope you find someone. Happy holidays!

Not sure why you would think it's easy money unless you don't expect to pay out. People do win and if you don't have enough cash or someone with cash backing you up then you could end up going broke.

Do you know what a bookie really does? Just because you see stuff in movies, doesn't mean it's not really true.

Real life bookies actually do have to break fingers and 'lean' on people pretty hard.

Bookies are the guys who hold the money. Maybe your terminology is wrong, but the bookie is basically the house in an illegal gambling environment.

If you really wanna know about the biz, I can introduce you to a 'friend of ours' but only if you know what the phrase in quotes means =].

Come on guys. I'm talking about online gambling. Yeah, you could probably choose to lend out some upfront credit so they don't need to pay anything initially. But you can choose to collect upfront payment from your members first. But the thing is, if you recruit members online, you don't need to go through all the troubles facing them or collecting debts! isn't that right?

It's too much risk I think is what it comes down to. I mean like I said, just the legalities are a real pain in the ass. Could you make big money? Sure, but you'd need a reputable site, and it's too much of a gamble on money. I mean think about it, you have someone play and they win a big payout, what if you can't cover it?

There are companies that provide all sort of solutions for bookies to manage their players. They are called "PAY PER HEAD". I used one called Real PPH. They are located in Costa Rica.

Sounds interesting to me , I know some ppl from DR who's been doing this for years!!! I know ppl who bet everyday not local the bad guys y ou see in the monies and they use a computer where they place the bets, I've won many times! PPL in the DR has been doing this for a long time!

You forgot to mention all the costs involved. You wouldn't want this running on a shared server and would need a secure offshore server. A website that runs 24/7 would need some customer support, right? There are a bunch of other costs but I don't have time to go into that now.

What about payments? Who is going to handle sending and receiving payments? This is not something you want to do from your own bank account if you are from the US or any other country where being a "bookie" is illegal. Western Union and Moneygram will ban you from using their services after awhile, i know this for a FACT. So you would need to know someone at one of those places that would let you use fake names to send and pick up money. Otherwise you would need to hire a company to process these payments, another cost.

Unless you have someone with a HUGE bankroll to back you up on this then it's not a great idea. The first couple of weeks could make or break you. Remember that betting can go either way and the 10% vig people charge won't save your ass if the "public" goes on a hot streak.

Either way, if you use PPH you are adding another $10 per player per week to the cost

OP, not the greatest idea. It is very hard to be on the operator side nowadays. Unless you have a huge advantage to offer your players, there is not much to do, considering the big companies have most of the market.
