Monetizing my weight loss?

Hello there!

I am always looking for new ways to make money. Here is my last idea;

A few months ago I changed my lifestyle and lost a quite amazing 19kg in 12 weeks. I did not go with any of the current methods but made it my own way. Of course I have some before and after pictures for marketing and also a diary where I noted everything.

Anyways, I wan't to monetize this. I thought about it and there seems to be three options:

E-book
Creating an e-book and putting it up on Clickbank. However, there is a ton of competition there, so even if my product would be of high quality I am not sure I would make any sales.

Subscription site
Some kind of subscription site where people an initial fee of, say ten dollars, and then a dollar a month. I could put up a few articles, a guide and a forum where I could answer any questions my customers might have:

E-mail list
Give the method away for free in exchange for their e-mails and try to sell other products to them.

Which one would you think would work the best?

- My english is not perfect, so a e-book might not be the best thing to attempt
- I have never done any kind of subscription-sites
- Advertising clickbank products might work, but I know pretty much everything is bs...

How to proceed!? Suggestions, tips and advice is welcome!

If you can't write a book you can be a testimonial for someone else's program.

Exactly! You can use this success to monetize and convert an existing weight loss program. Use Youtube a website whatever you can think of!

You can use your "program" and the affiliate product.. For instance if you find a good converting product (lets call it snake oil) You can push yoaur program along with SMith's Snake Oil helped you lose xx pounds in a few weeks, so you convert the snake oil and you can either sell or give away your guide to build a list.

I knwo this 1st hand since we have an affiliate program and our best producers have before/during/after pics and videos or are personal trainers. People LOVE personal reviews and endorsements especially if you can prove it. I hope you took photos of your journey!!

Of course I have pictures. A ton of them...

You two might have a point. The plan of attack could look something like this:

- Create a guide about my weightloss
- People Opt-in to get the guide
- In the guide they are told to buy a certain product (Perhaps even two? I combined dieting with working out)
- Market other products to the list later on

I would definitely write a guide about how you did it. There is plenty of room for more ebooks on weight loss. Especially ones written by people that actually did what the ebook says.

Also offer a low cost monthly membership where they can get more information, motivation and are able to ask questions of the author.

Work it right and you could have a goldmine here.

Really? I thought the weightloss niche would be pretty much full already. I see ads for different methods all over the place.

If I decide to write an e-book, is there any good guides anywhere? I got all the facts, I would just need to write them down in a way that seems professional.

Also, my weightloss is nothing like the fake weightlosses you'll find in ads, but realistic and achievable. I went from fat to normal, not fat to super model. Would this be good or bad for marketing purposes? Do people really trust the ads out there or would a realistic transformation be attractive to them?

I had a journal online with thousands of comments from others and almost became a role model for some people. Is this something I could take advantage of?

See you have a unique selling point already. You will be talking about how you did it. Real life experience. The weight loss niche is wide open. Shoot for the low hanging fruit keywords at first. Also create a Facebook page as a companion to your website. Weight loss + social marketing + real life proof = profits.

As far as guides. If you have a Kindle or Kindle reader, hit Amazon and search on writing, creating ebooks etc. Tons of good info available on putting ebooks together.

I would say go for it.

Who knew writing was this much fun and so easy to do?

Sat down to get started. All of a sudden I have 1100 words in front of me and it keeps comming.

I will give this a real shot. I started a twitter account for the purpose and started to attempt to attract targeted followers. I will be giving out weight loss tips until I am done with the e-book and the promote it on twitter and facebook.

I will try to sneak into a few large weight loss communities as well and try to make a name of myself so that once I am done, I could get a few reviews of it.

Was thinking if I should put one version on Kindle and one on Clickbank? I don't think it is the same customers, so even if I had to set a superlow price at Kindle it might be worth it.

I got a good feeling about this. At the pace I am writing right now it will only take a few days to complete the actual writing process.
