Getting old Analytics data from previous freelancer?

I've had a difficult time finding a solution to this. My 9 to 5 job terminated a freelance IMer that was managing our Adwords and Analytics. The freelancer was managing everything from his own G account, so when it came time to start doing everything in house I had to create a new G account for us, used the freelancer's .aea file he provided, but unfortunately had to generate a new Analytics code to add to our website.

Now management wants me to run a report for the year but I only have data that goes back to the beginning of October(when they delegated these tasks to me).

Is it possible to export the old data for the former freelancer's tracking code to our new account? I'm interested in taking whatever steps necessary but I'm having a hard time finding an answer. I would be interested in at least getting the reports in a .pdf.

Not much you can do. Have you tried reaching out to the freelancer and ask him to provide some basic reports for the missing months? Are there any log applications installed on the server? Like Awstats or Webilizer? Worse case you can use those or even your server logs to create your pdf reports.

Thanks for your response. I'm in the process of reaching out to him, I've left a voicemail and will follow up with an email tonight if I don't here back by the end of the work day. I had plan for my next step to be contacting our host to see if they had any stats they could offer. I'm just trying to educate myself on this process and all possibilities before I have a conversation about it.

The AdWords account shouldn't be a problem. Just get the freelancer to add you as an admin to the account and then delete him once you had admin rights. You can only access 1 AdWords account per email address though so you'll have to use a different email address if your current 1 is already linked to an account.

With Analytics it depends how it has been set up. If it is set up correctly the site will be on it's own account and you can be added as an admin and can then delete the freelancer once you have admin rights. If he has set it up as a profile on an account and has others sites within the account, giving you admin rights will give you access to all of the sites within that account which I doubt he will do. I'm not sure if you can transfer a profile from 1 Analytics account to another. I read that you can but i have also read that you can't. I certainly have never done it though.

Apparently I've had access to the old account he had originally been working with. When he forwarded over any info we needed he had only mentioned he recently created the gmail account to start claiming G+ and local pages, didn't say it had our Analytics history at all.

Regardless of that frustration due to miss-communication I'm glad to have access to it. Now I just need to figure out how to merge two profiles.
