How and why are you sure of this? There is big talk about negative SEO getting sites wiped out these days but if this test does not prove the absolute opposite I don't know what will. With the logic of a lot of people simply sending a few thousand bad links to a website will spell the end for ranking in Google but this test shows that if you do massive blasts you will get a massive dance.


I would not be at all surprised if the wiki site stood still and that the gov site and private stayed at higher positions for the foreseeable future, until the next algo update.

If you don't remember the Penguin update was a huge on-page content algo update NOT a link update, this was showed many many times over at the time yet for some reason people keep posting that it was to do with links. There were an incalculable number of sites with the shittiest link profile that survived penguin just fine, shitty content sites and overly optimised sites with dodgy content (dupe, auto generated, cloaked, keyword stuffed etc) got the boot.

Lots of people since the beginning of this test have been guessing that all or some of the sites will tank quickly but as we can see here, that is not likely to happen now after over 2 weeks of hard blasting.

I really appreciate ExtraWinner doing this as most other "case studies" have ended after just a few days and never given it the duration it needs.

I have long thought that this was a deceptive practice among the IM elite to drive away competition, but now it seems as though most were just genuinely drawing the wrong conclusions.

Sorry for late update. Been extremaly busy last 48 hours. We have blasted 50K links today:

Site 1 - Wikipedia Page - position 4 (starting position = 4)
Site 2 - Government Site - 22 (starting position = 36)
Site 3 - Small Private Site - 138 (starting position = 42)

Did you make any note of backlink amount for each site at the start?

And are you checking this number at the end?

Only reason I ask is that it would be interesting to relate that to the results - eg, say the Wikipedia page, if that has say 3million BLs and you introduce 500k spam ones, it wouldn't surprise me that it didn't move...

There is ahrefs screen shoot on the top of this page. Of course it wont show even small % of links created as spiders are not good with blog comments.

We have blasted 450K links last 2 days:

Site 1 - Wikipedia Page - position 4 (starting position = 4)
Site 2 - Government Site - 24 (starting position = 36)
Site 3 - Small Private Site - 190 (starting position = 42)

OK all. Few more days and we will be closing this test. Once we will close it I will blast all 3 sites with high quality links to see if this will help to stabilize results after Scrapebox. I will re-start test from January 2nd. I will close this one by in a week.

quite interesting. seems things is quite clear now though your experiment.
N seo is on its way.
Just wondering if everybody know how to handle the N seo, how will google rank the sites? that is to say, everybody on the internet spamming.
Or, will they just ignore the links which been labled spam or un-authority? or just ignore links at all?
