Pinterest and copyright

Hi,

I was wondering how Pinterest are handling their copyright issues? I have an active Pinterest account with around 600 pins and my website is mainly visual. The problem is I need a constant stream of images.

I could however, scrape my Pinterest boards, upload those images.

I want to know however the best way of doing this. I don't want to bother with copyright infringement and there's no way I can give credit to the orignal source as most images don't have that information?

As for pinterest - I have posted quite a bit and never experienced any take downs yet (fingers crossed), and have yet to see anybody else getting hit take down requests etc.

You could always give credit back to the person you "acquired" it from, just like people done in article marketing days (they used to copy and paste "acquired" articles and publish them on their own blog, and if trying to do it legitimately, they would link back to the original article.

I was looking at RebelMouse since they do what I want to do..i.e take pins from Pinterest and use them on their own website. I see they have a credit at the bottom of each image

For Pinterest when there's no actual website it came from they provide the unique pin url it came from. Is this what you meant?

Yes, thats exactly what I mean.

When this was happening a lot with article marketing (and still does), then just link to the unique URL where YOU got it from. It doesnt have to be the original source - just where you found it.

Think of it like news sites in their stories - they might not be able to link to the original source (although they should if they are any good), but what they will do is link to the source that THEY found their information from (whether the information is correct is another story!). HTH.

The best way is to use public domain images..They are plenty of images in any categories , subject, countries, etc..Hope this help. ..I can not post links, but if you do search ..you will find them..
