Giving SIN number online

Hey are there any opportunities in internet marketing for someone that doesn't want to give away their SIN number. I don't feel safe giving it online.

I think most CPA requires it because of IRS wants them to and those who don't requires it aren't legit or don't pay enough for clicks...for instance chitika..fast approval but pay is low

I assume you're from Canada? I thought Canadians weren't required to give this out for tax purposes. Isn't it illegal for businesses in Canada to require it? (because the SIN can only be used for which it was designed)

Maybe I'm wrong.

I know for a fact paypal.ca can't ask for the SIN. They can ask for proof of identity, but not the SIN.

Anyone who reports to a government tax organization is going to ask for SIN/SSN. The terms and information will be differ by country, but that's the way of the world. The government will always want their share. The only tax-free money you're likely to see is from a private party that's not going to report it or write it off.

SSN or SIN are same thing in my opinion..only CPA should ask you for it because you work for them and IRS wants it reported

In Canada, I thought it's illegal for someone to ask for the SIN? That's why Canadian Paypals don't ask for it. (USA is obviously a different story, with the SSN....)
