Hi guys,

I just started with seo and marketing and as many others (i suppose) i don't have much money to invest in stuff, so will do more manual work. However, I was hoping the members that are older on this forum and have more experience might eb able to suggest me free tools. I don't mean just seo or marketing tools but tools for any purpose that might help directly and indirectly.

For example a friend of mine who recommended me this forum also told me he uses notepad++ as an editor because it supports some more advanced features than wndows notepad. That may not seem like an overly interesting tool for many but for me it was because I didn't knew you could reorganize text from comma separated to per line and stuff like that with a text editor and never heard until 3 days ago about regular expressions.

so, any tool as long as it is free or very cheap and useful in some way. Also include any firefox or chrome extensions you use and find handy.

thanks a lot

PS: i searched the forum but didn't found a similar thread, i hope i'm not posting a duplicate question.

is that how you decide to buy your tools for your job? does a carpenter buy cheap saws, drills, jackhammers and such?
is this how you go about buying a car? a house?

get out of the free or cheap/free frame of mind. its will prevent you from being successful.

He/she doesn't have a lot of money to invest. That's why they're asking if we know about free or low cost options.

There are tons of free tools that are useful. I'm just trying to see what such tools others are using. Just because a tool is free it doesn't mean it is not good (phpMyAdmin, Piwik, Notepad++, WebMin, Inkscape, VLC media player, Winamp, uTorrent). Also, just because a tool costs a lot of money doesn't mean it is a good tool.
