Sorry I do not "get" Ebay buyers!

I think thats perfectly acceptable to think if the products are online for 50% or more discounted it is still genuine.

In my opinion, if its not genuine, it shouldn't be listed at all. (unless your from a country that accepts that as law)

Its 1 thing selling a fake to someone who knows its a fake, its another selling a fake to someone who thinks its genuine!

It is not the buyer who is at fault at thinking they are getting a good deal. Naive - Maybe. But not their fault!

Yes, you are right. But what is your point? At the end of the day, the seller will always get screwed if the customer complains because he shouldn't be selling fake goods in the first place.

Whether the buyer thinks its real or not doesn't matter, what matters is that as a seller, you are selling risky products. Customer can get his money back easy, customs can intercept (if international shipping), etc. And I'm 100% sure that for the 10% of customers that dispute and get their money back, the seller is still making thousands on the ones that are not disputing.

my point is what goes through the buyers mind? Are they that naive? Or simply scamming the bootlegger..LOL the irony of it all.

You have two customers basically in this scenario..

1. The complete dumb ass who thinks its real.

2. The person who knows what there buying but sees some potential for easy buyer fraud/play innocent.

Another funny thing...Why the hell should I pay $75 for shirt when I can buy the same shirt for $25...who is the real
crook...

The only possibility of getting that $75 shirt for $25 is a liquidation sale or an old style. Ebay is a minefield for branded products. I have been on both sides, the only one who ever got anything out of it was ebay. The system sucks in that neighborhood. I have actually been talking with some Chinese friends in setting up a aliexpress account on my behalf. A lot better terms for the seller over there. Conflict resolution is actually possible from a neutral perspective, fees are much lower and traffic is growing exponentially. Not to mention they have a pretty good affiliate program.

it's not that hard, if you sell it as genuine, it should be genuine. It does not matter what you want for it. I sold a dodge charger for $50 bucks once because it broke down on me 6 times in a row. It was worth far more than $50, but I was sick of it.

As a buyer, I don't care why you are selling something, but if you tell me it is a joe boxer watch, I expect a joe boxer watch, not a timex made to look like one.

LOL.....right so Homer Simpsdon buys a legit $100 coat for $10 then moans like f** it's not real? DUH!

So what, you get to sell something as genuine, lie about the fact that it is a replica, and keep the money when someone complains?

How very dishonest of you...

People on an auction site dreaming of coming away with a good bargain?

Who would have thought?...

The problem is you cannot write this explicitly when you are selling non-genuine articles, otherwise your auctions will be cancelled. So basically you have no choice but to cooperate with the customer. Let him return the product, and offer a discount or a refund. Otherwise you will have the customer filing a Paypal /ebay case, and leaving negative feedback. In the long run it is much better not to escalate things, however hard this may be to bear with some obnoxious demanding customers. Just blacklist them so they won't be able to bother you anymore.

Exactly as ekamai said. When you sell on eBay, customers and eBay hold you by the balls. That's why I don't sell on eBay and don't like it.

What I don't get is eBay sellers.. not buyers.

1) Huge fees for eBay reduce your profit margin
2) huge buyer protection
3) Huge reputation system that affects your sales dramatically
4) Little ground to stand out from your competition except price and feedback score.

Seriously, all eBay sellers should open a private online shop. Results take a bit longer to come, but the freedom and higher profit margins make it a better choice by far IMO.

i know what you mean......the huge problem with egay is right away you have 20+ competoiros all vying for the same customers. So everyone drops the price to the smallest profit they can live with....And the end buyers goes with the cheapest one.

As a sustainasble buisness.....it's a no from me.

yeah i mean who would have thought you could get a real brand new, with tags and in original packing North Face coat 60% under retail from Ebay..Wow. Drop the shops just buy everything on egay.... BIG difference!

1) I never said I did it...Did you even read my O.P.? Looks like you didn't Homer!

2) You are a BH forum saying things like this? Go f** off to the Warrior forum.

People are to hung up in "Genuine" and name brands.
If I have the option of buying a Rolex for $3,000 or a replica for $400...Both look the same and feel the same.
Only guy who could tell the difference is a Jeweler who has to listen to it tick. Then how does it make any logical
sense to buy one for $3,000? Oh copyright! Screw that...compete Rolex.

Those same people probably masturbate to a picture of Matt Cutts.

Yes, I read the OP, where you essentially said you should be able to sell fake stuff on eBay, because everyone knows its fake and they shouldn't complain.

Last time I checked, this is a forum for blackhat marketing, not illegal activities, which is what selling replicas without identifying them as such is.

Another fuckhead to never do business with.
