Website Design Ideas - Help A Brother Out

Ok ladies and gentleman, I need some creative juices flowing....

I'm almost done with a database website, and its time to start putting a face to it.
I need some ideas, thoughts, examples, what ever you got.
Its an aerospace website, it has a ton of part tables on the inner pages, and It will be viewed by anyone from flight mechanics to product engineers.
So it has to appeal to all.

I want the site to look very modern, almost animated (kind of), thinking of using icons as the menu and button functions, crisp high resolution, with Blue, Light Gray, Darker Gray, and White.

Does anyone have any good ideas?
Maybe some examples you've seen in the past?
Possibly a site to get some ideas?

I was looking at other template sites, but you get lost for hours and find nothing.

Just primarily design your website from your ideas and put a screenshot of it in a forum or provide a link to achieve brilliant ideas to make it more beautiful and build as per you like.

How about using some black and white aero-related photographs within a slider wich are overlayed with a nice texture:

if you want to look more elegant then do not wear too many colors in your site, create a simple design but interesting ..

This sure is a tough question...

I personally prefer color compliant icons and buttons: if you were keep the colorrange within a black/white/grey/blue - you might like an iconset giving of a very minimal vibe: http://bktnagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/BKTN-contact-icons-346x300.jpg (same goes for buttons)

On the other hand with vibrant colors you can give your site some kick/sauce BUT for as you are targetting Engineers and Mechanics I'd reccomend that you go for a plain/clean design for as the most engineers I know (correct me if I'm wrong) dont really like to flashy things...
