Please I Need Quick Help From Wordpress Experts!

Please my website is showing this "Error establishing a database connection" and i was to repair it by performing this "To allow use of this page to automatically repair database problems, please add the followingline to your wp-config.php file. Once this line is added to your config, reload this page. define('WP_ALLOW_REPAIR', true);" please i don't know what to do or how to do it. Please i need urgent help.

Basically it's telling you that wp can't connect to database...
why?
- wrong user..pwd...
- localhost?
- prefix is screwed up?
- did u try removing that or instead of true make it false?

Please where can i correct that? Can i send you my Details? I really don't know much about wordpress probs. When trying to login to my wp-admin panel i get this "One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired "

Do you have a database backup made (I don't think so)?

Check the spellings in dbconn.php and wp-config.php
check the phpmyadmin from your cpanel > related databases

check your login username and password for any spelling mistakes (cancel this --- this won't be helpful in your particular situation though )

You can easily check on it yourself. You won't create more problems and it would be a good learning experience for you. Try fixing it yourself if your hosting support staff is a bit slow always.

I would guess that something changed, like you changed the cPanel password, or something along those lines.

In the wp-config.php file in the root directory are the database connection settings. Something in there might not be connecting correctly.

If you have another WP site and that ones working, you can ignore my thoughts since your database might be corrupt and that's outside of my wheelhouse.

Like others said your best bet is to let your hosting provider take a look at it. If you still need help I have done some things with WP and databases and can help you take a look at it.

Thanks all for you advice, other websites hosted on it are still working, i would have loved to learn how to fix this myself, but this is my ONLY money site, and i don't have the database backup, it is being hours and am still waiting for my host reply. Pleas srb888 can you take a look? I have read all the links you gave me. Thanks.

I got the same once when i was on free hosting. And that time server was down....

Check if same happened to you.

I've actually had this exact issue happen with a wordpress site before... I was using hostgator, and the rep in the chat fixed it in about 5 minutes. That might not help (because I don't know what he did), but, I will always use hostgator because they don't mess around with tickets like this.

Okay, the problem is in the server. I am getting a db connection error while the back-end isn't connecting at all.

Contact your hosting support throgh their chat and they will be able to sort it immediately. Shouldn't be a major problem for them. If you're able to connect to the cpanel and ar still facing the db problem, I can help then.

Please change your passwords as soon as you are able to connect and make them very hard for others (including me ).

I can see that your site was working at least 24 hours ago but not working during the last hour, It was also indexed by Google in last 24 hours. So the server must be facing problems. Do you have other sites there? If so, are you able to open them now?

Call your hosting support and also request them to check for any malware...
