Ok guys, im sure some of you might see this question silly but i cant find answer for it.
So... can i have LED (tv) in my EMD name? is that against Amazon TOS or is LED brand name?? (please dont laugh lol)
I want to set up Amazon affiliate store, and i want to include LED in my name..
Is that something i could do?

Thanks fellas

Cheers :)

LED is an acronym for light emitting diode, unless there is a trademark, I dont think there could be a problem. Be like using radar or scuba in my opinion. Lot of lighting companies using it in names so shouldnt be a problem.

Yeah..i tought so...but what i saw...lots of LedTV domains are offline...and i cant find any Amazon affiliate store with LED in their name..thats why i ask. Thanks m8

Yeah you can use it after all its just an acronym not some copyright or trademark or something.

As long as you don't have a trademark in your name you should be fine.

LED will give you no issues. It's a descriptive/generic term. When in doubt next time here's a method that will usually answer your concern -

Goto Federal TM registry. Plug in the term. In this case "LED". Now view all the different entries that actually have a Reg TM #. You'll notice every single one of them has the disclaimer in the filing "NO CLAIM IS MADE TO THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO USE "LED" APART FROM THE MARK AS SHOWN".

Majority of the time this will give you all the indication you need that the term is descriptive - when you're in doubt.

Thanks alot man :) much appreciated!
