Better to add content all at once or over time?

Hi,

My blog is really starting to come on now with increased hits and finally starting to earn some revenue.

I have written up enough entries to update daily for the next 90 days.

My question is, is it more effective to publish these daily or just add them all at once?

Obviously for return readers, updates would be good. But I'm getting about 75% of my traffic from search engines and referrals. Most of it is new visitors.

The benefit of adding all the content at once would be more stuff to be indexed by the search engines, more content to keep readers on the site longer and looking at more pages. A new visitor could come, see only 2 months of pages, then never return, even though I have another 90 articles in queue waiting to publish!

Can't find any info on google about this!

Thanks!

If you've already got 60 posts then that should be enough for the surfer to have a click around and hopefully bookmark. If you're worried about not having enough content then put up some of your new posts immediately and then queue the rest.

Assuming you're starting off with a good body of content then you're better off regularly updating for the foreseeable future rather than publishing it all at once. It keeps the spiders coming back regularly which means getting a regular fresh bonus to your site. Plus, if you publish it all now, then in the future it will look like an abandoned blog to surfers who come in through a SE and find that the last post was weeks or months ago.

You can upload them all at once to save on administrative time and hassle, but just post-date the ones you want to add to the queue so they are published at a later date.

Post a significant amount at first. Maybe post 15-30 all at once.

The remaining articles can be spread out daily.

Since your blog is new, it's important to have a a significant amount of articles posted. Your website viewers need something to read! :)

I always add over time, but that is just personal preference. I have added over 60 post at a time once or twice, nothing big to report about it. not seo-wise anyway

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense.

I was looking at figuring out what the benefits of staggering the posts over time would be other than to make the site look live (didn't think about the spiders!). My site is all reviews / niche info though. I'm not really trying to build a "community." Wouldn't a site with lots of info be better than one that's frequently updated?

You still need to update daily, or if not daily, at least once every few days. You need to post to make Google see that you're still updating your site.

It will definitely help with your rankings. :)

I think its better to keep the audience guessing , it'll definitely make them more curious , just make sure to notify them future updates , all the best keep !
