UgJunk... I'm done. I'm cashing in my chips.
I am probably just a customer who fell through the cracks, and maybe 99.9% of your customers weren't as affected by this migration, but in my opinion this has been an absolute comedy of errors. I've literally moved entire server rooms in less time than this, and with 0% data loss. Here comes my rant... close your eyes if you're sensitive, kids. But if I were shopping for a VPS, I would want to know the good, bad and the ugly. Here's the bad and the ugly:
I received an email a couple of weeks ago about this server migration. The email gave me a head's up, but did not mention a date or time. It also lacked other important facts I require, so I immediately replied back asking for more details. I get a response from UG saying (and I paraphrase) "Don't worry, that was just a preperatory email. You'll get another one to tell you exactly when your VPS is going down. And just send me your password over Skype so that we can make sure the migration goes smooth when the time comes." So I sent my password via Skype. Cool.
Fast forward to Monday, 2 days ago...
I can't login to my VPS. Hmm, bummer.. maybe I had too many threads running in GSA and they shut me down? Not likely. Maybe it crashed? Not likely... hmm, oh well, probably a DNS glitch? Nope, it's resolving.. odd... Oh well, I'll check again tomorrow.
Tuesday... still no VPS. So I file a ticket and wait... in the meantime, I reply to an old email thread between UG and myself. He then informs me that the migration is underway, and my password isn't working. He says it would be faster at this point to just get a new VM. Um, excuse me? /rant on
What a fcking pain in the ass it is to reinstall a bunch of SEO tools that all require manual licensing changes. Bookmarking Demon, Ultimate Demon, Scrapebox, GSA, etc.... really, I already went through this when you guys had to deploy me a new VPS a few months ago because of a strange networking issue. Not to mention I don't have recent backups (I thought I had more time! I thought I would get a 'heads up email!') of my projects... so bye-bye to my latest live URLs. Bye bye to 1 week of link building work. Fck me.

So I tell UG just to use a boot CD to blank the admin password for my Windows 2008 installation. I used to do this all the time, it's easy, and it takes about 5 minutes. That was 8 hours ago. So I email support to get an update. I get this awesome email this morning:
"Unfortunately the backup of your VPS has a corrupt filesystem and it's not booting. I've tried several times running system restore tools from microsoft but they are not working since it's a virtual hard drive. I can deploy a new VPS for you if you'd like ASAP so you can start restoring your files form your backups.
Please advise if you want me to re-deploy this so I can get to it immediately.
Thanks and have a good day!"
*eye twitch*
*UPDATE: UG took the time to speak with me over Skype, and he's in the process of making my problem go away as best as he can. While my experience DID happen, he's doing everything a human being can to make me happy, and I appreciate and recognize that.
