5 days and going strong

Good Luck!

I'm not giving up completely - just trying to get those ab's back.

they're currently hiding behind an inch or two of beer gut, I'm still drinking wine with dinner etc - just trying to stop the 3 or 4 "knock-off beers" I normally have everyday.

I'm not an alcoholic - they go to meetings, I go to parties.

I quit 3 yrs ago completely, too many close calls and I obviously couldn't control it. Better man for it.

I feel you. You know you have a problem when every other day you wake up with a dreadful hangover and genuinely consider suicide as a better alternative to living with the regret and anxiety drinking oneself half to death causes.

The difference a few years makes :) Good luck partymarty4870. Get yourself a gym membership with the $ you've saved.

I don'r need a gym membership - I've got a home one. I'm also a pretty fit guy. It's just now that I'm getting on a bit in years I can't just rely on good genes. I'm also in training for a surf ski race - this one, so need to be down to 85kg by then. I just paid $4,000 more to buy a ski thats 5kg lighter than my current one, so seems stupid to carry that much around in beer.

Haven't had a beer in 15 years, since that last chug-a-lug contest....

Haha good luck! no beer it must seem dreadful but the abs will be well worth it, You got this!

no beer especially if you're a guy is kinda hard. well, Good luck to you mate!

I quit drinking 5 days ago and I'm almost dying right now. Obviously my body is sending me a message that quitting was not such a great idea :D

Giving up the booze is easy.......I've done it hundreds of times !

There are few things I see completely no reason to put out of my life, and beer ranks very high on that list.

hey it's hard!!! especially if you have been drinking a long time because it's more of a lifestyle than anything else. When you quit it's not just from physically putting the drink to your lips. Your friends all want to go out, now that's not as appealing to you. I lost all my friends (sob, sob...naw). It's lonely. My wife and I quit together before we got married. It's hard. She would have to go to the hospital all the time. I justwas depressed and unproductive. I always had a job but I would get drunk every night. The hardest thin got me was loosing the lifestyle. A bunch of loud friends whooping it up and loud music and girls and such. I know I could still go and do the majority of that but it's just not the same and I rather concentrate on making $ and getting out of debt and building something that will last. It's only been a lil over a year for me and I've slipped a time or two. But, all in all it's better and I've saved $1000's already. It gives me more time for IM because I work a 9-5 rat race job right now and so I have to attempt to do IM on the side and at night. I'm new to bhw and have found a plethora of info. it's now just a matter of time to implement it haha. I guess that's a good thing. People call me a wuss or whatever but in the long run I want to build a great life for myself and my family. I guess that's why we all are working for...other than stuff haha. I want my family to be proud of me and me be proud of myself and be able to provide for them. That's my .02
