to OP:
use the twitter API:

https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/followers/ids

it will give you not the usernames, but the ids, you can get as much as 5,000 user ids per page

for example:

https://api.twitter.com/1/followers/ids.json?screen_name=aplusk

change the username 'aplusk' at the end to the desired username

You just need to follow this pagination estructure to get more than 5k followers:
