I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

At first I thought, it seems like it would take somebody with half a brain to figure this out (This wasn't meant as an insult, but I'm saying it seems like it's really easy to figure out and that a lot of people who are creative can take advantage of this)

But I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I don't have a *large* social media presence. I've got a tumblr, 3 twitters, 2 facebooks, and probably a couple pinterests as well as various other social website things.

I'm trying to promote for a "gaming" niche, I don't care if the first rule is to not say what you are promoting. I am not going to directly say it but the sake of argument it's gaming. It's high gravity, it looks/looked promising.

But I'm just not making any sales.

Granted I started a little over a week ago (maybe) and I didn't expect my first week to be big money sales, I've got a few things holding me back from going full time, for starters money is tight enough as it is to invest into anything like domains.

So I set up a blogger, and tried that way. Tried to generate traffic at various sites, nothing.

I don't know what I"m doing wrong, heck I didn't even know most of those sites at affiliate pages until I went to the site and looked it up myself (didn't even notice in the description it's there as well)

I don't know what to do, I'm not asking to be spoon fed, but I would like some general ideas on how to do things. Or maybe what I'm doing wrong? I can't afford adwords, or geting targeted keywords to my site. I've pinged, used general lee's traffic bot and traffup to try and generate ANYTHING and got 5 dollars in my adsense now. (Whooo cheeseburger)

If anyone could give me A tip. ANY tip. something general. I could sure use it right now, as I don't want to be one of those newbs that tries something half ***** and then gives up.

I think your problem is untargetted traffic, and the fact that you're in the gaming niche.
I suppose you are doing leveling guides for games etc. I have tried those too when starting out and never got a sale.
Gamers are most of the time pretty computer savvy and recognize that the guide in itself is worthless or they just get a copy from somewhere for free.

I would target the computer novice and "idiot" who doesn't know what he is doing.
With this I mean non technical niches, that your mom and grandma would look at on the web.
They will be more inclined to take action and convert since they will be easier to convince.

Stupid example: A few years back my aunt wanted to try the internet. So I gave her an old desktop computer I had lying around and we setup an ADSL connection at her place. A week later I asked how it was going and she was all happy like "Yeah i was the 100000st visitor on this website and I won 1000 bucks!"
I was like: Omg ? Who the bleep still believes those stupid banners ?
She even filled in her personal information and everything. So I suppose somebody got a few cents for a lead

So target computer idiots who don't know what they are doing instead of gamers who probably are in their teens, early twenties and grew up on the web getting blind to ads and knowing what is bullshit.
Try the niches you would never have thought of using.

In total I've had 60 hops, 15 hops per order form impression, and 4 order form impression count. I don't understand what any of this means, so to me it was nice seeing people actually clicking on things, despite what they were but I'd really like to go ahead and make that sale. I feel I'm on the edge of it, waiting to break into it. I'm just missing ONE key element.

Yeah, like saxgod said, you probably just need more targeted traffic or you need to send them there in a way that they are already reved up about the product that you are promoting. Maybe link to a youtube video from your twitter with a video showing high level characters then say "I got to this level with this leveling guide here and wanted to share the method with you guys." Then people will believe its more legit, you can maybe get a test copy and walk through the product with them on a screencapture software. That can work, and youtube videos rank well in google because of blended searches, so keep in mind if you were to make a video to do a bit of keyword research even if your sending the traffic to the video through social networks as you may get lucky with google!

See, I'm really interested in the IM world, and I really want to dig into it but Clickbank is time and time again isn't impressing me much. Before I dove into it, I did some research about it, and looked at some other people's methods or what they claimed to have done.

There is a lot of "ready made" earn money things I've seen and those don't well...I mean they seem kind of iffy to me. If the market is saturated with sites that are all following this same formula, how many more twists are out there?

Anyways I'll keep experimenting, but I don't know what else I could possibly do other than what I've already done so far.

You might not like hearing this, 60 hops is nothing. I got 600 hops today and got 2 sales. Some other days I get 300 hops and i get at my 5th sale. You need more traffic. If you get targetted thats great, but get untargetted too, go beyond the limits.

Every step you take can be your biggest mistake, it could bend or it could break, but that's the risk that you take...

No it's cool, I need criticism and I need to hear that it isn't easy because that was one of my first mistakes in starting this was "oh i can do this" and it turns out that it's not....as easy as I thought it once was? I know 60 hops is nothing, at least it was something. And it took me trying to drive traffic by using sites like traffup to even get that. I'm surprised I even got order form hops or whatever.

I got 11 form server calls, which basically means they are at the part when they enter their payment info, and I only got 2 sales. Stuff like that will drive you insane, you just got to teach yourself new methods of getting traffic. I learn something everyday

Make a Youtube video, spend $15 on Fiverr services to promote it to the top of its niche ($15 on Fivver should get you ~30,000 views, at least 100 likes, dozens of comments, etc.), put your hop link in the description - bam, you've got an income.

Just out of curiosity, say we have no idea about the product how then would I make a video about it? I'm just curious I'm not trying to spam or troll or anything I just...it would seem that unless I bought some of these things I wouldn't know.

You need to figure out your marketing approach. It doesn't sound like you have it mapped out. How do you intend to drive traffic? Just setting up some social media accounts and a blogger account isn't going to do much for you. You will need lots of traffic and to do that you need a hook to generate traffic to your site/posts.

Most of us failed many times before we started figuring it out. The key is figuring out what doesn't work and try to capitalize on what is working. You've got some hops and order form impressions. Now you need to figure out where that traffic is coming from, why they were motivated to click through to the offer, and why they didn't follow through with it.

You may have to try different offers until you find one that converts. Maybe try something easier like a CPA email submit that has to do with gaming. Making it in IM is a lot of trial and error with a heavy emphasis on error. You will find that as you branch out that you will have many failures, some ok sites, and the occasional home run. Once you figure out why you got the home run you can start using it as a template to create other profitable sites.

Update: I'm up to like 63 hops but still no sales, I think it's time to go a different route and twist it up a bit, I'll probably try a different offer.

But in all seriousness, ditch the gaming niche. World of warcraft is dead, the niche is extremely small. Think of it this way, whatever it is that you will promote has to have a large amount of people involved in it, cause if there isn't a large population, there is no way in hell you will make good cash unless you got targetted traffic from adsense, and that right there costs money.

Target weight loss, or stock trading, or how to train a dog.

Think about the amount of people that would be interested in any of the above as oppose to gaming niche, plus gaming niches are not only small, but they are categorized, you will target only one small group of the large niche of gaming.

Think large.

Yeah it's looking like a dead end here, so I'm gonna look into other avenues. Not to mention I've played WoW and some of these guides are actually kind of outdated now because they've made the game a **** ton easier to play especially with MoP.
