Hi there everybody.

I'm facing a "teenage problem" of whatever you want to call it. I've got this bad habit that I always sweat a lot when in school or other social places. Whenever someone I don't know start talking to me I get nervous, and I can feel myself getting warm and I start sweating... This has been a huge problem since I was like 16. I'm 18 now. I don't have problem communicating with people, okay, I'm maybe a little shy, but nothing over the normal I think...

So, there was a time like a year ago when I was with this girl. Whenever we hanged out I didn't sweat very much. This is maybe unlike what normal people tend to do, but I somehow got confidence while being with her. Also in school, I try to be the one who don't care about what other people think. I didn't do that whenI was with this girl, and that's maybe why I didn't get nervous and started sweating?

So, how do I stop this? When I start sweating, I just think about it which makes me sweat even more...it's like an evil circle... So, is this some kind of social awkwardness, or do this happen to many people?

(I don't care if you're laughing at me right now, this is actually a serious problem for me...Also, sorry for my bad english :) )

I believe it doesnt happen to most of people. Well it is definitely psychological. Whenever u get this feeling, start to take deep breaths, really deep ones so that you feel your stomach moving. This will tend to calm your nerves down and hopefully you would get rid of sweating. Well it wouldn't hurt to seek professional help too. All the best

I have anxiety and this is exactly what happens to me. When I get my mind on something, it goes in an infinite loop where I keep thinking about it. Sometimes this last for a couple weeks to a month with me before I get something out of my head. It's crazy, but you learn how to deal with it. You'll be fine.

Get some botox for your armpits? lol

I've heard that the sweat just comes out somewhere else after this...Also, I start sweat because of psychological reasons. Don't think this will help...

Yeah, I will definitely try this. The thing is, that even after I feel just a little sweat, I start think about it over and over...then it just continues. Don't know if deep breaths would stop this... Where should I go to get help. I think it feels weird to talk to someone about this, if it's not that common.. :/

Go and see a doctor and make sure its not medical. If it is a psychological thing then see if you can get some anxiety therapy or at least look into some aversion therapy on your own. It sounds like a silly thing but I suffered with blushing when I was a kid and it did affect me badly.

Ohh, anxiety? This sound serious. Do you take some kind of medicin or something?

if it really bugs you, it is probably best to speak to an adult - speak to your parents or if that's akward, speak to an uncle, etc. and let them help you; if they think its best to see someone, simply go for it, you have nothing to lose

Well I do got diabetes typ 1. Don't know what this should have to do with it...but yeah, maybe I should talk to someone. I just don't know how they can take you seriously about something like this... :// I don't usually blush, or not that I've noticed this...Also, could the sweating has something to do with bad confidence or something? Not that I feel like having bad confidence, but the sweating surely takes it down..

No, not yet at least. I try to deal with things naturally if I can. You just need to train your brain to chill out. It's normal to sweat, so you need to tell yourself that when you start to sweat. I used to have the same problem back in high school and so did a lot of my friends. We all would sweat so bad under our arm pits and it's uncomfortable, but it's normal. We would all joke with eachother about it and be like "look how hard I'm pitting right now"

If it's just your armpits sweating bad, do what I did and get Certain Dry (over the counter). I did this for like 2-4 weeks and although it would leave rashes around my arm which was uncomfortable, once I was done I didn't sweat from my arm pits for like 2 years. It's worth it, give it a try. Either way, you're fine, stop working yourself up and just learn to chill.

sorry, but i dont think that an internet markting forum is the best place to ask stuff like this.
....just buy anti-transparency gel and you wont sweat

Okay, great advice! :)

Actually I've used Certain Dry a year ago, but it resulted in me sweating from my feet instead :/ Didn't like that...

Also, I'm a so called "late bloomer", my puberty came like when I was 16, and boom, lasted for a couple of months (atleast the worst of it). Maybe I'm still there and suffering from stuff other teenagers suffered from when they were 14-16...

Well, it's the only forum where I'm active, and you guys are people just like anyone else on other forums, so... :)

I used to suffer from this when I was your age, well I wouldn't call it anxiety, but i used to sweet alot more than other people when I was doing something physical. Even walking down the road to the local shops, I'd return home and have to change my shirt because of the sweat patches. Used to get bullied rotten for it! I just ignored it stopped when I was around 20ish.

Okay, sorry to hear about the bullying..:/

But I don't sweat by doing anything physical...atleast not very much. I'ts more when I do social stuff, which makes the whole thing not socially accpeted. You shouldn't sweat by talking to people...

I just have o ask you since you seem to have most experience in this question,

Do you have any special techniques for thinking away the thoughts? Like how do you control your brain? I haven't been able to do that yet. It just goes out of control...

Hey man I can relate to you. I had been the most LOSER kid you could ever imagine as a kid in my old country and had pretty much not sweating but awkward moments all the time where I was shy and I also got bullied a lot. I am now 19 and thankfully my highschool years were AMAZING. My biggest advice to you is to overcome your shyness man because to be shy is to CHOOSE to be shy and noone can tell you who you are? what to do and what not to do.

You are you and you do whatever you feel like doing. Do what you think is right and learn don't let people influence you with anything man. I have gained a lot of my confidence by approaching people on the street mainly girls and starting to hit on them in crazy ways. Its fun and you will get over yourself after you meet 5 people.

Life is too short to be shy and not do what you want to do man so GO OUT THERE AND FUCKING ROCK PEOPLES WORLDS! Be the man of your own mind and people will follow!

Oh and for the sweating thing man treat it as a joke. WHO CARES? its just sweat bro stop sweating over sweat

Hi there, great to see your progress ! :D

Well the thing is, I'm from Finland. Here we are very unsocial and if some random talks to you he / she becomes a weirdo immediately. You simply stay to your buddies. Therefore, hitting on random people in the city don't work. Atleast when you don't live in a big city. Here everyone knows eachother and so on...

But you overcame shyness? Didn't know you could do that.. :D
