Hello everyone. I managed to rank my site for a good keyword position 1 but i have a problem...

Basically my keyword has some adwords competition here is an example below:

Thats just a similar example, the highlighted website is in the same position as me. Im just wondering how much % of traffic do you think this website gets, it is position 1 but there are alot of adverts on top of it.

I was thinking to buy some of the adwords positions but im not sure. Any advice is welcome. Thank you

I guess you'll get over 40% of the KW traffic.

You can do nothing about it, keep your positions.

Thanks that seems fair i suppose. 40% isnt too bad. Thanks again

A suggestion: Why don't you check your Google Analytics account after a week or so of traffic at that position and see how many uniques you got. Then go and check the exact match traffic number for that keyword on google adwords keyword tool. This should give you a decent estimate % of the traffic you are getting. The usual % for a no1 position is between 45-55/60% depending on certain things. You can then take it from there and decide on whether to go down the PPC route as well.

Just IMO. Hope this helps.

That's what happens when you rank #1 for a highly competitive commercial search term. When you see that many ads its a good thing in the sense you know the keyword is likely going to be profitable, bad in the sense the competition might be too overwhelming but obviously that's not a problem if you are already number one. You can't outrank an ad. It could possibly be an indicator that the adsense content network will pay out a high cost per click if there are that many advertisers in the search network. If you're site is compliant I'd suggest a modest adsense block or two.

you're good with being in top 4 positions after that is 1% maybe

This is how it started in some of my niches. Google eventually added the 8 piece shopping block to the right, replacing the five piece shopping block in the image shown by the OP. A non-commercial wikipedia listing appeared number one and after that a Google image block was added, which further diluted the value of the top organic results (makes those paid ads look more appealing to users). I was #2, but all organic listings #1+ listings were pushed beneath the fold, and traffic was cut down to about 10% of what it once was. Although I'm still in the top five, I've abandoned that niche. It's quite clear that no amount of SEO effort or great content can overcome the aggressive paid ad placements that appear in Google. You would be wise to monitor your keyword(s) for what I described as happening to me. At 10% of the traffic, it was not worth investing any additional time/effort.

you might want to buy ads. only way around this

Might want to make sure you're logged out also. I don't see your site ranked #1 when I search that keyword?
