I sent out ~50-60 7878 ORM mailers yesterday. What I did differently is half of them I used regular envelopes, the other half I used rigid photo packages. Put dices in all of them. I used the photo ones as they look more professional, but they were about $1 each so I wont be using them again. Instead, and this is a good tip for others that use direct mail, you can get free rigid FEDEX envelopes in bulk online. Cant put links yet, search fedex order supplies and go through the process. I got 200 envelopes. Will use them in my next usps mailings. Sneaky but it works and looks very professional IMO. No dice needed to get a high open rate. USPS postage for reg. envelope with dice is $1.95, with fedex envelopes (9x12") it's about $.95 so it's cheaper also.

I sent ~20 to auto dealers, ~20 to restaurants, and ~20 to dentists. They should have arrived today. Will painfully wait until tmw to see what volume of calls I get... I live in a large metropolitan and I targeted the richest businesses in the richest part of town where there are more millionaries then not, so landing just one of these businesses will be bank.

Will pass the time with lots of catch up on web dev projects and tequila ;)

I tried searching for fedex order supplies but it took me to their site where I need a login ... not sure how to find the info you're talking about.

You need to create a Fedex account and then you can order supplies for free.

Well done, good on taking action. Looking forward to hearing an update

if you dont hear from some of them, ALWAYS follow up with a phone call. Wish you all the best

Good luck on your journey to success don't give up and keep your head clear out from those tequila

glad that you've taken action after reading.. Best of luck mate!
I bet.. You'll achieve ur goal soon! ;)

Good luck! Make sure you follow up with a phone call as they may be busy at the time, hope you secure a client!

Let us know how this goes for you. I have been setting up my own 7878 based ORM system for a couple of weeks now (with a few twists). Currently I am finishing up my sales letters and if I stay in schedule, I should be able to send first patch of envelopes early next week. :-)

Good luck!

Nice! Ya it took me a full week to get everything completely setup and ready including sells letter, new branding for the services with logo, mailing system, marketing booklet brochures and business card, proposal forms, website. One intense week but worth it to get it all in place.

Thanks

So are you saying that you mailed the fedex envelopes using USPS service?

I only did 1 but will be doing exactly that from now on.

Ya you gotta sign up. It's free though. They'll also call you...

I plan on doing followup calls, and starting the call tomorrow. Anyone have a good "script" / introduction for when they followupcall? I dont know how effective it'd be to call and say hi can I speak to so-and-so, i sent him a mailer the other day (especially if there's a gatekeeper).

I would wait a week since you sent the letters. Businesses tend to be busy and it may take them a day or two to look at your packet.

Good job taking action, that's always the hardest part!

don't wait a week. Give it 3 business days for transit time then call the crap out of them. Ask for the contact person by first name.

them: "hello, bronson & bronson how can I help you?"
you: Mike please. This is a Jack regarding follow up on _some_fancy_jargon_for_paperwork_here"

So for this run you mailed all but 1 using Fedex? I'm only asking because you said it costs $0.95 per envelope and trying to figure out which service you used so I can use it as well. I have a crap ton of the 9x12 envelopes leftover from working the Obama campaign and trying to decide whether to use them or use the Fedex envelopes instead based on whichever is cheaper to mail out.

Got 1st call today from an auto dealer. Pushed for a meeting, but he asked to see case studies before the meet. I have plenty of SEO case studies to send him, but none for reputation/reviews. Any suggestions? I can always fakes some i guess until some some clients are landed and I have real ones

If this is your first client for ORM, you really need to offer him free service in exchange for him being your reference.

Landing the clients are easy, but actually following through and building an ORM business locally is the challenging part as you can hurt your own reputation if you don't follow through.
