My website works with an affiliate system and google sends me lots of traffic coming from low income countries like indonesia, morocco and african countries.
I just changed the geo targeting in webmaster tools to USA. Nevertheless, i d like to keep google organic traffic from western europe, Japan and Australia.
Is there any ways to prevent being indexed in versions of google that are not profitable for me? (like african countries)
thks.

Simply use maxmind.com geo-location script to null-route or redirect waste traffic.

I don't think you can refuse to be indexed on certain search engine versions. However, there are several ways by which you can avoid traffic from countries you don't want coming onto your site. Like Infoasian mentioned, you can just have a redirect to some other landing page too.

Yepp, maxmind database is good enuff to do ur job.

Redirect traffic to a different offer - or - adsense ads. I think it would be a big waste if you would just rejected traffic from those countries.

I think that you should be careful while placing links to ensure that forums or other submission sites of those countries are not used & hence you can be saved from the traffic from those countries.

what a nice new world we live in, second class citizens by birth. hey it's not racism if it benefits marketing.

sad but true

If you have a dedicated/vps with cpanel get csf (configserve firewall) installed then you can block a country just by typing the country code like US for United States or ID for Indonesia etc....

in my opinion like i did in your cpanel you'll see something like "ip deny" use that tool and then search in google for countries ip range now ban those countries in your ip deny manager like i did this for my forum i banned Russia(only for spam),Pakistan,Vetnam,China and 2-3 more where user from those country access to my forum they just got the error "you're not allowed to access here"

If your traffic is SEO traffic then you're targeting bad keywords. Look at Google insights to see where most searchers for your keywords are located. Then choose better keywords that are being searched by people from more affluent keywords.

Yes, you mustmimplement incapsula dot com, you will be able to filter unwanted countries.

Lower value visitor is better than NO VISITOR at all
Good point
And for the guy that wanna have only rich people at his site. Those "low income" countries you mentioned have "only" 2 billion inhabitants (together), of course there is a lot of them coming to everybodies site, not just yours.

I'm not sure what the issue here is... all traffic is good traffic; it's your use of the traffic for monetization purposes that is lacking. Even African mobile phone web traffic can be monetized if you use your head.

I dont think that having lots of traffic coming from low income countries is an ipotant problem for you! I like to get traffic from all countries on the world. If you want to prevent, it is very simple. let visit the country code from http://countrycode.org/ and typing code to block.
