How to include internet marketing experience in resume?

Hi guys!
I have been doing internet marketing on and off for a while now and even though I love the passive income out of it, I miss being in an office and have co-workers. So now I've decided to apply for jobs related to social media or SEO and I wonder how I can include the seasoned internet marketing experience into the resume. I cannot put it in the work experience right as it's not for any company.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

You can add it to the last section or section where is "other abilities" or smth like that

Good question. I know its difficult to show them something like your websites on which you are working on. Its very uncomfortable. Maybe you can open up a website with ur services and have a testimonials area where ur clients talk about ur service. make ur site look legit and add the link in ur resume

Also apart from SEO you can tell them that you are good at lead generation and how will you generate leads for them. Thats what they are interested in

Thanks guys for the good tips. The SEo service page is a good idea, however I need to apply for a job next week and I don't think I can get a service up and running so fast.

Create a small portfolio, otherwise it's just your word. Anybody can claim to do anything on a resume. You need to show them actual real world proof of your abilities. This is a competition, what makes you better than the next guy or gal? You should be trying to totally destroy any chance of your competition getting the job. Therefore you need to create a portfolio that really sets you apart from the rest. Something that makes your potential employer say wow yeah, I want him/her working for me!

I created a portfolio and I believe that's what got me an IM job. Most of my competitors most probably were either to stupid or to lazy to come up with something like that.

You have to remember the labour market is extremely cut throat right now. Lots of able people without work, all wanting a nice high paying job.

Put it right at the top of your resume as your most recent work experience and send it out to recruiters (ideally who deal with digital agencies). i did this not too long ago just to test out the job market and i was getting several calls a day and a few job interviews...all of which i turned down as happy with the freedom and income my own projects.

That's a great idea, a portfolio. So you put together the statistics of your websites in a portfolio? I just feel a bit funny about revealing my IM websites to prospective employers. Can you pls give me an advice on how to create an interesting portfolio without revealing your sites too much?

If you have some websites that are worth showing then why not. But yeah you cant show them your hemorriods website

Have you worked for any clients? If yes then you can list their websites and also list the keywords you ranked for them. Maybe you can try that.

Well I have never worked with any client and I have actually only 1 website that Im not too embarrassed to mention. The rest are about for example yeast infection or money making info products

Then you can open up a new site related to SEO. Just add some services there. You just want to show the recruiter that this is your main website. Print a business card also. Then you can tell them what are the uses of those services and your recruiters will be impressed by your knowledge as you will have a hands on experience. If they ask who were the clients then just tell them that we got many from UK, US and other countries.

If they ask why you want to apply for the job if you already have clients then you can tell them that "i want to add your in my client list and want to share my expertise with you"
