Angry Birds - $2,000?

Hello

I have this guy saying he will make an app similar to angry birds for me for $2,000. (which is kind of cheap). He gave me an extensive portfolio of apps he created - which looks good except I have no idea if they're his.

What I'm really worried about I'd that I asked him if he has a website and he said no. Is it possible to make dozens of good apps for clients w/o website? He also wants 50% down payment upfront - which I will not give of course...

Anyway to investigate of he's legit?

1. he runs off with the money
2. he actually attempts to design the apps and it turns out to be crap.

To be realistic the graphics alone cost more then 2k so I can't see someone designing the app graphics and all and then coding it for 2k. Plus you have to consider if he has so many apps and so successful with his extensive portfolio why is he so cheap.

if you really believe in your project, find a reputed programmer and pay the real price, dont risk that shit on some guy that dont even got a site niggy

If You can believe on his portfolio (if it`s his work for sure), it`s acceptable to make a deal. Don`t having an website is a quite strange, but many people don`t have a facebook account or even skype by particular reasons, I don`t think it`s a point to don`t trust him.
Anyway, it`s better to make some kind of contract to protect you in case he don`t deliver what promised.

Try offering him escrow for the whole amount. If he takes it, then I wouldn't consider it a scam, even though it still sounds too good to be true.

If you are very interested.. I would recommend escrow ... if he is genuine .. he will accept it .. ask him for a prototype .. and milestone based development and payment release .. I'm a programmer for 10 yrs .. and don't have a website .. have built solutions for many big clients ..its my bread and butter .. but yeah .. I dont have a web

you can get doodle jump for $10 (seriously) . But u cant make any money by copying the game concept with different graphics. Trust me you need atleast $40k to create games like angry birds with that level of graphics.

It's hard to make money cloning games using the same source code. That's like saying you will build a similar websites to techcrunch by installing wordpress (cause techcrunch uses wordpress as well).

Angry birds cost 140,000$ to develop.

You should be the last person to be calling anyone out in this forum a scam or scammer MR . Nerves of some members

dont do it OP, dont do it! after all these responses you got the best thing you can do now is straight up let him know he can not be trusted because he just sounds too suspicious. No matter how bad you want the deal better safe than sorry!
