I'm trying to to several redirects to a domain which ranks #3 for a keyword & would like to get it to #1 via re-direct.

What will you suggest?

REDIRECT TYPE 1

Buy a domain, host it, get some content, index it, build backlinks, & in a week REDIRECT & continue building backlinks

REDIRECT TYPE 2

Buy a domain, NO HOSTING & CONTENT, Just re-direct from the direct GODADDY Panel immediately after buying & start building links

REDIRECT TYPE 3

Buy a age old domain via godaddy & either do option 1 or option 2?

Your suggestions are really helpful.

Redirect Type 1 is what you should do to push it on top. Make sure the content you post on the new domain is lengthy enough and unique to get some authority to the domain before redirecting.

Definitely option number 1, give the backlink some authority first.

I haven't tried this method. Are you suggesting that you buy a domain, build links to the domain and then redirect the new domain to the money site, or redirect the money site to the new domain.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'm trying to wrap my head around it.

Here's the layman's term for you.

1. Buy a domain
2. Create a site on this new domain with unique content targeting the same keyword as your main domain
3. Build backlinks to the new domain
4. 301 it to main domain
5. Keep building backlinks to the new domain aka secondary domain
6. This will further push rankings for your main domain on Google.

Hope you're clear now.
