I usually use hostgator for my wordpress sites, however I am having to use GoDaddy hosting for a business that wanted it done and for some reason everything is loading really slow.

Anyone have any experience with this or know what would cause it to be slow?

Even just bringing up the site normally it loads slow just to the default wordpress page. Is this something I should contact support for as possibly a server issue? Or maybe something I need to change....

I would say it is the wordpress install itself, but it was loading slow before I installed wordpress on it too.

Thanks

Godaddy, enough said.. Get another hosting, Godaddy is one of the most hated ones.. :)

Believe that is going to be the only option.....This is rediculous

Are you sure your theme is properly optimized / Cached? How many domains do you have in your hosting plan? My blog loads blazingly fast in GD (only slowed down recently by 20% because of my Adsense ads). I dunno why I hear too many bad things about their hosting!?

I think you are using their shared hosting. They just dump 100's of sites in one server and they really are terrible.

Have you ever used any other hosting? With for example, cpanel? :)

I've had the same experience a few months ago and I sent an email to notify them right away, they responded with a generic answer like checking your script bla bla. The server still running slow like a turtle, so I ignored them while thinking of moving to another host. Then, all the suddenly about 3 days later, the server ran crazy fast until now. So, I think you Should contact them and let they know their host is Sucks and need to be Fix. At least there is some hope!

I've used GD for years, and never had any issues. I must be one of the lucky ones I guess.

I think you guys are right, I have heard the shared hosting thing before and that seems to be the issue. I will contact support and tell them to move it to another server or one with less populated sites or ill switch itz.

Thanks everyone

Godaddy hosting is slow and unpredictable as it is and if you're connecting to one of their database servers it will at least quarter your speed.

Good luck. :) That's a thing too with godaddy, their support is so slow and it can take up to 24 hours + before you get a respond.. I like hostgator, 2 mins and the issues are solved.

godaddy is an awesome company if you get what you need lol. I take it you have shared hosting? I have a dedi server through godaddy and that thing is beast. I first started with shared hosting and quickly found that it had a hard time with my drupal sites. I have had the server for about a year now.

edit: as for their tech support (when you have a server) its awesome! I got a quick chat box and get help usually within minutes. I dont understand how all these people have issue's with godaddy. To be honest I tried host gator and I couldnt even install a tracking script, support said sorry cant do it lol.

Used almost all of them including HostGator :). Not only Cpanel , I even had a taste of WHM panel too.
HG was supperfast , but the hosting in question here is Godaddy.. isn't it?
