Hey, I'm wondering why gsa isn't posting to all the platforms? I have article directory, microblog, social bookmark, network, video and web2.0. but it only posts to web2.0 and microblog. Haven't had a single link from any other platform?

Is this normal?

I'm trying to use GSA only for one country but regarding keywords for example some of them are english ones so selecting language or country i get mixed results? and if i specify for example italy as !.it sure i get .it websites but i miss all results as .com or .net that instead are located in italy and have italian language...how can i fix it?

1) where can i find the file.dat that GSA is pointing to, i would like to change them so that i can have italian names and cities ?
2) sure i can add all filters on domain...but still i have the same situation...assuming i have as keyword "marketing" and i want only backlinks from italy to have more relevance for google.it...if i use filters (italian language or italian country) on search engine i will get several results coming from several countries, not only italy...if it put filter !.it i get only italian domain, but i miss a huge part of italian domain that are .com, and if i put !.com i will have results from search engine coming from other countries....as for now i have only 2 options...or i put !.it and lose soooo much time and bandwith since the filter is on results and not on the search itself and after 10 days i get stuck (setting filter "from PR1 to PR10" and OBL max 100 and about 10k kw i get only 5 verified per day) or i delete the filter !.it and so i qill get more results but mainly from other countries. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks L.

1) about_yourself.dat looks like its it the gsa search engine ranker install directory in the engines folder.

2) I'm not sure there is much else you can do about that at this time. I'll think about it and see if I can come up with anything. If you have an idea for feature request I can send it to Sven, but that's all I can do for now.

2) it could be that "!.it" could be traslated into "site: .it" instead than a check on ip (i suppose there is a check on file ip-to-country)

best workaround for this is maybe to check "skip sites where following words appear" and use some very common, but italian specific words like "!cuore !bella !uno !....". this needs to be one string and should contain many, many words so you won't filter any sites by mistake.

Edit: I don't know if that works, but is worth a try

I've been using GSA for awhile and I've noticed few things please help me fix them. Firstly, I'm getting links from unknown PR sites and the program is building too many backlinks.

Questions:

1. There is the "Also unknown PR" option, I'm unable to figure out if I check this will the program NOT post to any unknown PR sites or WILL it post to them?

2. I've set daily backlinks between 1-5 but I'm getting like 30-40 submitted out of which 15-30 are verified o.0. Why is it going way above the daily limit? to get 1-5 verified links the program is submitting to 30-40 sites... somethings not right...

Anyway, other than that I'd say GSA is freakin powerful if used right. I've checked some of the links its made and they're very good.

1. You want to leave that option checked.

2. How is this setting setup? I'd have to see how you have it setup if its done correctly. Can you take a screenshot? Even if you have it set to a certain number of submissions it will still run the verification while its paused. So if you have links from past campaigns it could be finding those links as well.

1) When the "Use URLs from global site lists is enabled" is checked to true, does that mean the engine first checks all the site lists I've scraped first, then searches the selected search engines? Or does it only search thru my global site lists for example 50% of the time? How does that work?

1) When having the global site lists option enabled I believe it will load x amount of URL's from the site lists and then scrape some targets, etc. From what I've seen in the logs, it doesn't look like it loads the entire list first and then move to scraping. It switches between loading list and scraping. (I think) I'll have to double check with Sven to make sure.

2) I've mentioned it to him in the past and he puts things on his to-do list. I'm sure his list has grown quite long by now lol. As you may or may not know, Sven hasn't been able to release any updates in the past few days due to expired Comodo certificate that is used to sign their executables. They need this in order for it not to flag peoples a/v's. Somehow the certificate thingy didn't renew and they are having some issues getting it renewed quickly. Hopefully Comodo gets back with them within a few days or they find a new solution. When things are moving again with updates, I'll run the Elgg back by him.

The Elgg script is written that it can post to blogs if possible. Maybe you had some bad luck with it or the script needs to be optimised in some ways but as I said, it should be capable of blog posting.

Right Click on the Project(s) you want to get the submitted/verified link list --> Show URLs --> Submitted/Verified --> Done
