aging process (i'm talking about webpages, not balding)

so what's a good way to get the aging process started on a newly formed blog, web 2.0 property, etc?

i see people using linklicious.me to get their backlinks crawled and possibly indexed. is this a good way to begin the aging process for new webpages?

any other good suggestions or services?

also, does the aging process begin when a page is CRAWLED or INDEXED?

I'm not trying to manipulate it. I'm trying to find out good service/methods to get it started.
