An update is being issued very shortly that includes an update to add support for additional search engines into Proxy Multiply. The search engines are in a paid ADD-ON but will be free for all past customers. There will be a 3-day grace period in the software to allow for 'late comers' to still join and receive the free add-on.
The addition of new search engines should improve UK proxy scraping, especially as it includes UK search engines.Very strange - I was running PM for 10+ hours today - was not able to scrape a single anonymous proxiy

I'm getting the "Unable to resolve your IP address to compare to proxy testing results" thing again today that has been mentioned in this thread numerous times. Is there something wrong again with the IP resolution mechanism? If not, what can I do to fix this?

Second day not a single working anonymous proxy
Olga, are you also seeing an error about IP resolution in the text status log? I'm not experiencing this issue but I am trying to track it down for you and bpockets. Are you able to test non-anonymous proxies?
Hi bpockets, nothing is wrong on our end. Do you see the IP error immediately after beginning testing of proxies? Or does it take a few seconds to error (as in 30 seconds)? Please PM me your authorization key (displayed in Help -> About at bottom of window).

Hi, I had a suggestion for the booster plugin. It would be nice if it could filter the proxy url sources by success %, i.e. 1000 proxies found and 100 working for a 10% success rate. What is the use of keeping a website which scrapes 1000 proxies and only has 20 working proxies or whatever threshold you input into the plugin? Just my 2 cents.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. The plugin is functional in its current form without doing a percentage based evaluation. Many users need those additional 20 proxies, so it is still significant. Especially for users that are seeking out more rare types of proxies (Scrapebox proxies, elite anonymous proxies, etc), they want the 20 out of 1000 proxies because while few in number, 20 proxies is another potential 20 scraped links/comments/etc.
Another concept to consider is that many proxy sources (URLs) have dynamic content. So, while the website may have only 20 proxies one day, it could very well have 100 the next day.
I would suggest increasing the number of proxies that the program needs from a website to evaluate as a 'keeper' if you are finding too many websites with junk proxies. To do so, click the green Add-Ons button on the main window, select the Proxy Booster, and then select Add-On settings. Enter a larger number in the box that reads "Only keep URL sources that have yielded at least ... proxies".

I agree that this plugin is working fine and it is something that distinguish the software from other proxy scrapers. I just thought it would be nice to have that option. Even without this feature PM is a great software

Hi, I purchase your software today, after run through yesterday, Im so delighted for bought it. However, today, i opened up "PM" and normally it will check update, auth application and check the update for some leech file.... and hangs! after a few tries, i manage to open it. but when i click on "Get proxies" its churn out a list of proxies..then testing proxies, none of them working out. I'm sure this is a small problem.
and how do i activate the account? I'm still in the trial mode. please advice.

Hmm.. If it is hanging, that means it is probably updating a file! How long did you let it wait for? Depending on your internet connection speed, you may need to wait several minutes while files are updated. Are you sure that Proxy Multiply didn't pop up another window that you need to click on and dismiss first?
With regards to no proxies being valid, it is either a network issue or a configuration issue. Please click the 'Proxy Type' button on the main window and select 'Proxies for all purposes' (second item in list). How many proxies are you giving it a chance to test? Try testing at least 2,500 to ensure you aren't actually getting any valid proxies.
To activate your purchase, click the 'Already purchased?' button that is shown when your trial window pops up.

Hey uuhoever, we do not recommend installing Proxy Multiply in a folder other than the default one specified (on Windows 7, it is C:\ProgramData\Proxy Multiply\) as there area access issues with files as demonstrated in your post. You can either try running Proxy Multiply as an administrator (which may still cause you issues when it is time to update PM) or simply re-install to the default folder.

I am testing the trial but downloading and testing new proxies is taking ages (over an hour to scrape and test 8 good proxies which I don't think is acceptable). I guess it's a questions of settings, if so, could you please provide some guidance in terms of settings that can deliver good scrape/test rate?

Hey krilin, please disable the 'When crawling a page, also crawl links on that page' (under Configuration -> General) and see if your results improve. If you already had that disabled, you may want to examine your country filtering settings (Configuration -> Country Filtering) to ensure you aren't limiting your proxy choices too much with country filtering. If you still are having issues, private message me a screenshot of your Configure -> HTTP Proxy Testing window.

Yes, Proxy Multiply can find proxies for that purpose! We recommend testing the proxy against that specific site using the Configure -> HTTP Proxy Testing -> Check against specific site option to ensure you are getting proxies tailored to your needs.
