Any SOFTWARE to Monitor VPS Usage/Keep servers Secure from Unauthorized Usage?

Suggestions for any software that'd keep our servers secure from unauthorized usages?


Like the software should,

1) Monitor from which IP's the servers were logged in via RDP connections
2) Allow the servers to be opened from only specific pre-determined IP's
3) Report/send notifications when they're opened from un-allowed IP's.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure you are using Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware softwares. Further, make sure your Windows Firewall is always turned on and finally do not share your info or use cracked software

I don't really see how anti virus and anti-malware on your vps is going to stop others logging in!

You can limit the remote desktop connect via the windows firewall and only allow trusted (or just your) IP number. This will stop anybody logging in if they don't have an IP address that you've specified.

You can use a network monitoring tool like Opsview, Cacti etc

I was getting brute force attacks to two of my VPS. Basically the the hackers attempted to log in to my server every second. You can fix that by changing the remote desktop port. Here is a guide http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306759
