Software for Making your own Flyer's???

Use MS Publisher. There are tons of templates already available.

Yes . . . You can use MS Publisher for the task. Just create your 1/2 page in "Portrait" format (as opposed to "Landscape" format). Then select all, arrange, group, copy, paste and move the new pasted grouping to the bottom half of the page.

I've used Photoshop for years to do that stuff. I make biz cards, postcards, brochures, flyers etc all with PS. But if you don't want to pay...I don't really know what to tell you.
Maybe if you can pay a little you could get Photoshop Elements. Or, go and buy PrintMaster. It is pretty user friendly, and you can easily make flyers with it. I don't think it's too expensive...not as much as photoshop anyway.
Try ebay...people are always selling used copies of SW. Thats how I got PS CS.

Go ahead a buy Photoshop....it's cheap considering all the cool stuff you can do with it. You can probably talk to a student in one of the colleges around your area to get it for you at a really good discount...sometimes up to 70% off. Honestly, publisher sucks moth balls.

I have used Photoshop and MS Publisher for about 12 years now. I used to be a full-time graphic artist. I know both of those apps like the back of my hand.
Yes . . . You can do really cool stuff in Photoshop. Lots of filters, bevelling, gradients, etc., etc. However, you are not taking two things into consideration:
1) Boosey is not experienced with Photoshop or MS Publisher, and the learning curve with Photoshop is MUCH STEEPER than MS Publisher. MS Publisher is a Desktop Publishing app.
2) Boosey only wants to make a flyer, and as long as he is using clip art or photos as the grahic elements, he will be able to accomplish the task in much less time. It takes at least a couple of weeks to even start to get the hang of Photoshop.

Great info Wiz. I echo what you say and PMd Boosey with some tips.
Having been a self-publisher/printer myself for the past decade, (longer, actually) I've seen and tried a lot. Something like this is way too easy to get in over your head and waste a lot of valuable time and money.
Simple is almost always better.

Photoshop is the best option to do any kind of graphic work, but it seems that you want to get a free tool. I recommend GIMP. the link to the site is:

You could even use Word (I use it for this exact same thing
every once in awhile, especially when I already have graphics
etc handy and am too lazy to open PhotoShop) or if you don't
have Word you could try it's free counterpart Writer:
