Do you advertise on Redditt?

If so, do you pay for their advertising or do you just spam it?

I am curious to see what the numbers would be like for paid advertising. Is it worth it?

Reddit users will rip you apart if it's deliberate advertising haha. Not like it really matters. Make it look natural and you'll be much better of!

yeah you also have to worry about reddit banning your site. If the advertising option is worth it I would like to do that, just want to hear from someone who did/does it.

No thanks 85% bounce rate on a solid, large site.. It's horrible traffic, doesn't convert either. A. All have adblock. B. Most won't buy products without doing extensive research. C. Most refuse to use an affiliate link, ever. They hate people who advertise, they hate companies/brands, they only support odd mom and pop techy/video game garbage.. My thoughts, my experience.. Same thing other's say over and over.

They banned my one account for posting 4 links to my site's articles over 3 weeks, lol. Even though I was commenting, offering value, etc. News worthy stuff.. Sent 7 requests for an unban, got no response.. What a joke. Signed up again, new account, submitted 3 links from my site again, not banned and they show up.. Reddit doesn't ban a site, they just ban users. I don't like the site, but I usually can get 100/visits/day with any sub for free, and 10-15% will browse my site more, like an article on FB, etc. And it's good to submit in a SEO aspect.

Nope. Like StumbleUpon, it's dead traffic that will only dilute your CTR and increase your bounce rate.

Also, I wouldn't put it past certain Reddit users to clickbomb a site if they feel the person is a spammer.

As always, it depends on what you are offering, the section of the site where you advertise, and your actual ad copy.

I tested $200 in advertising and lost most of it.

It was a test that failed.

I am not willing to write off Reddit advertising yet, because honestly, my offer was probably the wrong offer for the wrong audience.

I just use this site to promote mine. Not in large extent. Just a few post may be. That's it.

I've had a few of my sites banned along with the user. The submit will go through but you get no traffic at all. This is compared to the 100's of traffic you would get if not banned. I did spam it pretty heavily though.

Pretty much to echo what everyone is saying, heck no. I wouldn't pay for traffic. Put yourself in the average users shoes on there and then ask yourself are they really going to be A) interested in my service B) be willing to pay for it and you have your answer.
