Initial Thoughts:
Luka and George approached us a few weeks ago over Skype talking about their new dripfed social service and they asked us, if we are interested to try it out. Needless to say, we were very intrigued by it, since it's a fairly unique approach of delivering social proof to already existing (or even new) websites. As we were just in the process of working on our domain, we used their service to gain initial momentum (along with some simple other promotional stuff) - not even 60 minutes after submitting our project, our domain has been indexed and the first social links were publicly crawlable - impressive.
The superficial stuff:
The reports are detailed, including images of every submitted social link/share. You get the reports mailed to your preferred e-mail on a daily basis, so we don't have to spend our valuable time looking for each report invidiually. Further, they are neatly compressed into a PDF file, which is great if you use Google Docs or Dropbox for your data management.
The backend makes it easy to setup your projects. After signin up, we had our project set-up within 30 seconds. After that it's set and forget - which is basically the idea of the whole service. Put in your URL, Keywords, Description and Images and be done with it - that's how social syndication should work.
Communication and Customer Support is always on par (not that we had to make use of it) and you can reach both of them on Skype almost 24/7.
Consensus:
Overall, it's a great and fair-priced package to increase the social linkbase to your site(s) - nothing more, nothing less. They know their stuff and they deliver what is advertised: Social proof under consideration of link velocity and link diversity.
Now: Social Links won't get you ranked, but if you know how to build on them, they can be used nicely to increase the authority of your site (if you're in the churn & burn business, forget about it, not worth it) - but for small business owners, e-commerce stores and local companies it's definitely a good idea to add these links into the mix. In addition, you may get some direct traffic (and sales) in the process. People love social credibility >> if they see that your site/store/product has been liked on facebook, they are more inclined to spend their money on your product(s) (this goes especially for financially irrational women!
