How do you guys rank your sites and your clients sites in 2012. Post in this thread only clean white hat techniques.

Here are a few backlinking strategy's that I use and it will never fail.

1. GUEST POSTING
2. Manual, relevant blog commenting
3. Social signals - manual on Facebook by making contests for getting likes, shares and optin emails and by uploading photos and articles.
- automate on the rest of the sites with Onlywire and Fiverr gigs
4. Web 2.0 blog networks with 3 tiers - all the articles are unique, even the tier 3 web 2.0 blogs.
5. Some other links for diversity like edu, gov, wiki.
6. Related forum discutions

If you have any other good backlinks techniques that work in our days and let's discuss more about how to find blogs for guest posting because this is a very good type of backlink.

After the last G00gle update, which Fiverr gig works for you also?
If you have 50 bucks budget to spend for a client with 3 kw's what you will do?

does making backlinks from relevant blogs or from relevant niche is too blackhat ?

Making backlinks is not white hat too ...

A very, very debatable process. Part of website promotions that Google encourage (aka, whitehat) is by telling your friends and families about it.

What if you tell your "friends" about your website and your "friends" like your articles and link to it? ;)

Doing that is fine but building blogs yourself and linking to your site is blackhat...

Agree.. well, tell your "friends" to do that then lol. I think the key is not being too obvious and not spammy. On top of that, make that money site deserves to be on top position.

Ok, so this is very similar to guest posting.

Idea: Create a database with clean, high PR blog owners filtered by niche who will anytime post an guest post article for you (for free or paid). Working that way you will never have worries about SEO ;)

so tiers still work well? i have not used them yet but am considering it

i would also agree to the fact that there is not such thing as white hat nowadays, no matter how hard you try to safe yourself but you do get involved in black hat in one way or another!

'White hat' is fine just for marketing purposes. ;) If you want to rank your sites, you have to go blackhat.

^ Can we make this thread less about this guy's ramblings and more about OPs discussion? I think it could be a good one.

Social bookmarking. What you think, OP? If drip fed and not over done I think it can be useful.

I found this. It may be usefull:
PR7 and 6 guest post with quality article writed by you for 5$ (not link in blogroll!)

The only true white hat technique is content marketing.

All other strategies involve some sort of link begging, persuation, or manipulation which will affect Google serps and they consider this unnatural.

+1. Everything in this thread is debatable whether it's white/black. The OPs stuff is as close as it gets though.

OP, how do you go about getting people to let you guest post?

Guest posts are definitely the best, if you can find high authority blogs in your niche that accept guest authors (that may be challenging).

You should also add social bookmarking and press releases, in my opinion. :)
