Use Facebook to sell physical products --- Good idea?

Hi,

I have tried many things to sell phyisical products (electronics) online, but the cost on fees is always so damn high, and it's hard to get a decent profit with ebay.

That's why I'm looking more into cheaper/free ways to selling my products online. And Facebook is starting to seem the right and cheapest way to sell, in my opinion. Not by creating facebook ads of course, because these are also expensive, and require a small budget, without knowing if there is going to be a ROI at all.
So, I was thinking to sell the product through a normal Facebook page. Only, I have not seen this kind of business outlined here. So, I'm wondering : is it a good idea at all? Is it even possible to do? Or, is it frowned upon by Facebook, and basically not allowed?

Does anyone have more information about this? And, does anyone have some tips to get this started properly? If at all possible of course...

All tips and tricks are welcome.

My mum actually does that with products she makes, candles and soaps and stuff. Worked well for her so far.

I'm gonna use a 400k+ facebook fanpage to promote my ebay store which sells women accessories\shoes\clothes\bags ETC..

But, how do you get so many likes to a page? Really, I get puzzled about this. Now I noticed it's not even possible anymore to promote the page to your own friends. This option seems to be gone, and it's all paid advertising now.... Or am I missing something here?

You can invite all your friends to like a page you create.
